Bio:
I am a big appreciator of music, especially music that has a spirit of exploration, or a mad scientist variety with lots of things mixed together. Music and sounds in general are to me in a sense very visual and colorful, from dark to light. I am a drummer of 17 years and love to play many styles. Mixing or overlapping styles interests me very much as it allows for more to get across. Love Frank Zappa, Amon Tobin, Coil, Dave Weckl, Berleli Legreene, Bill Frisell, Koenji Hyakkei, Pat Metheny, King Crimson, Meshuggah, Jonathan Goldman, Squarepusher, KODO, Antony and the Johnsons, Godspeed you Black Emperor, Outkast, Aceyalone, Trilok Gurtu, Matthew Garrison, Shawn Lane, Aphex Twin, and much more.
When I play I practice either latin grooves, funk grooves, rock, fusion, jazz, some choice poly rhythmic exercises, or ambient/bellowing improvisations. I also work with a drum machine often, creating lots of interesting explorations into sonic expression.
I'm figuring out this mac and garage band so I can put up some original tracks and drumming in the future. Looking forward to collaborations!
