Hello and thank you for coming to my profile. I am Amir Bitran and I was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. I have lived in multiple locations throughout the United States during my life, and I am currently settled in Brookline, ma. Music Background I am classically trained in piano, having played since I was 5 years old. I took up song-writing upon turning 12. Originally, my songs were composed entirely of synths and vocals, with my hardware being limited to my keyboard's built in sounds and my computer. Upon turning 13, I received my first electric guitar and electronic drum set as bar-mitzvah gifts, and they completely changed my sound. About a year later, I got my first mixer, which has had a beneficial effect on the overall quality of my sound. More recently, I have been incorporating MIDI, which has greatly improved the quality of my synth sounds and electronic drum sounds, as I have now been using MIDI to control garageband's built in sounds through my keyboard and electronic drum set. Primarily, my songs are rock songs, though they are influenced by many other styles. Because of my classical training, most of my works have classical influences. I am also a fan of classic blues, which you can hear in many of my pieces. Finally, I recently have been into various forms of jazz, which have found their way into my music as well. Overall, if I had to choose one genre for myself, I would call myself an art rock or progressive rock musician because of the varied, sometimes even experimental, nature of my rock-based music. Musicians that have influenced me include but are not limited too: Queen, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Van Halen, Ac/Dc Green Day, Duke Ellington, Dave Brubeck, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Schumann, and Christopher Tin
