Streaming Music on Facebook
Friday, June 17 2016 @ 08:30 AM CDT

I was wondering if anyone new the best way to stream music tracks inside Facebook's feed?

SoundCloud's widget used to work, but now merely kicks the user out of FB and opens the sound page on the SoundCloud site.

ReverbNation used to stream directly in the feed, but now seems only to stream on my musician page, not in the feed.

I could simply play the track via YouTube, but that seems a less elegant solution. Any ideas?

I simply use a BandCamp song URL – not the BC player embed code. Not sure why FaceBook hasn't blocked BC yet. See samples here at top of my feeds, Works on both personal and business FB pages.

Soundcloud is what I have found to work best. You can embed the audio on FB.

[correction, not actually "embed"]

Jack, that doesn't work any more, as both Tobin and I found out. Within the past year, Facebook did a tweak to prevent inline playing of songs in a personal Facebook timeline. The "embedded song" takes you to Soundcloud. Or have you figured out a workaround?

Love it! Ha! But I fear people prefer to stay in the feed. Youtube does seem like the best streaming choice currently, it just doesn't reliably lead to more music or bio or other things the music sites do.

I've been interviewed by several blogs about my recent recording and they seem to prefer Soundcloud links for embedding. I've started to upload tracks there... but one more place to check, sigh, it gets exhausting :-)

ok solved that one - doesn't embed any player but at least shows some artwork on the link - you just post the song url
