Description
Simetimes it is important to remember thus who had important things to say. Especially these days.

Pretty straight forward - I play all instruments except the drums - I have fun and I am happy.

Lyrics
[ john ]

john, your words where sweet
today none knows what they mean
john, you're still with me
in my dreams i feel free
john, let's walk together
let's give piece a chance
let's walk on the wild side
don't let them put us down

In the town where I was born
Lived a man who sailed to sea
And he told us of his life
In the land of submarines

let's get together man
let's give piece a chance

john, I imagine there's no heaven
it's easy when I try
john, I know you're here with me
none really dies
john, let's walk together
let's walk towards that light
let's walk on the wild side
don't let them put us down

© MKN with some words from "The Yellow Submarine" and "Imagine" by the Beatles and John Lennon.

Great tribute to a great man
I enjoyed this. Thoughts that more people should entertain
these days.

I like in the two "John,..." verses how you do the pausing but I
was expecting and would like to hear after the first four lines
of line/pause/line/pause/etc to hear the last four lines
delivered in a continuous stream of music and vocals. I hope
that makes sense to you, what I'm trying to say.

Intoxicating
At first I didn't like the stop and go nature of the first
verse. But then, with the two different rhythmic shifts it
started to all fit together. Cool song, Mikki. Great message
and tribute to Mr. Lennon.

Very warm sound on this... acoustic guitar was perfect and
very rich.

Timeless message
but, of course, you are right, nobody knows, or seems to
care too much these days for words of peace. Awesome
song. Awsome sentiment. Reeled me in from the
beginning. Thanks.

Great song, great message... I really like the way you
have put this together. The stop/start verse really
grabs you from the beginning. Your unique voice is
a curiosity (I mean that as a compliment). It reminds
me of the quirky singers fronting Modest Mouse and
Pere Ubu... I think I have already said that before,
haven't I?

Lovely song...
This is really clever; I really like the stop start sections
with the acoustic guitars. I love the vamping piano I can
hear in the background occasionally which sounds very
Lennon-ish. Great piece of work. Course, I was always a
McCartney man meself... Am I allowed to say that I never
liked "Imagine"?

peace...
is something we should always strive for i believe. Love
the idea behind the delivery of this message.

The background vocals have a wonderful subtle haunting
vibe to them. I agree with pgreenstone regarding the
stop/start thing stopping after the first 4 stanzas.

also like how you pick things up at the end, the handclaps
were a nice touch. this has a very live feel to it. nice job.
Lennon's one of my favorite songwriters - and as long as
we're talkin' 'bout peace, here's more Lennon lyrics i'll
leave you with -
"hold on John, John hold on, it's gonna be all right. you're
gonna win the fight.
Hold on world, world hold on, It's gonna be alright, you're
gonna see the light
When you're one Really one Well, you get things done
Like they've never been done So hold on"
