Lyrics
Something is bothering you
the door shuts without a clue
I could tell you anything you might want me to but that wouldn't really be true.
Won't you tell me all that you feel
It's the only thing that is real
Now I can understand that you might be scared just take a hold of my hand.

It's all you have to do
Let your love shine through
let your love shine through

Something is bothering me
strange things happen when we
stroll along the promenade with your hand in mine, are we only wasting our time.

Maybe we need to rearrange
a piece of this puzzle must change
It's clear to me that we're slightly off dear
Where do we take it from here.

It's all you have to do
let your love shine through
let your love shing through

A Winning Formula
Another great vocal performance, instrument
arrangement, and production. This song seems a bit more
hook oriented than "Shame," the song of yours I listened
to just prior. I think your style was stronger on Shame
because you have a strong soul sensibility that isn't as
impactful in a pop composition like this. You do have an
effective formula with your approach to the use of
instruments in your songs. The horns work to make a
retro connection to some of the soul music of the 70s. All
that said, this is still a catchy, well written and performed
tune! (7-8-6-8)

Let it shine
I dig the brass backing. Very solid right. The trumpet solo
has a southwestern feel, with a schmaltzy not quite
Maynard Ferguson flare, that didn't fit the song, in my
ears, making the tune sound like a lounge act instead of a
pop hit. But your writing is very solid. I'd drive the
arrangement more toward a Motown, soul sound, dig into
the retro groove, and let your voice carry it. The writing
has a classic sound that makes it great for almost any
audience. A crowd pleaser.
