Lyrics
The sun travels, an orange spectacle
Accross my bathroom, and into my eyes
There's water resing there,
It falls on my face
And I am crying for one simple thing

You never came home
You never came home last night
I'm crying my eyes out,
Cuz' you never came home,
You never came home.

And all I did was wait,
And all I did was wait,
All I did was wait,
All I did was wait.

There's blood on my fingers,
I cut my hand on the door
I'm reading the paper with no irony,
It's turning red.
And here's your face on the front page
What the fuck are you doing on the front page?

Boy beaten to death in Harlemtown,
Boy beaten to death in Harlemtown,
Boy beaten to death in Harlemtown,
Boy beaten to death in Harlemtown,

That's why he never came home,
He never came home last night,
I was crying my eyes out
Cuz' he never came home
He never came home

And I'm gonna keep crying my eyes out
Cuz' he's never coming home,
He's never coming home.
And I'm gonna keep crying my eyes out
Cuz' he's never coming home,
He's never coming home.

All I did was wait
All I did was wait
All I did was wait
All I did was wait

He never came home.

This is excellent . . .
. . . if a little rough. You've a god's honest beautiful
singing voice. I really want to hear this with a little
production, to get your voice a little clearer and up front. I
want more.

This is excellent . . .
thanks so much, I should produce it, I'm never sure what to add to sad songs
instrumentally so they dont sound tacky, but thanks a whole bunch, I'm
having the best time on this website and i just joined yesterday.

great song
Obviously this is just a raw live performance so
production is kind of a non-issue. I like how you made a
very personal song out of a tragic headline like that,
making it feel more real than a headline and front page
picture could.

I think it would be good to produce this one, arrange it
and get a better recording and mix on it. Keep it pretty
simple but fill it out some. I think keeping it acoustic
would be best, though there might be a place for
something electric or synthetic with a light touch. I can
actually imagine a little bit of accordian fitting in there
real nicely. Know anyone with an accordian? Has to be a
real one, not midi. There are any number of things you
could do with this without overproducing it ro making it
tacky, as you said.

It's a nice live performance but I hope to hear a more
produced version sometime.

great song
cool, its funny you say accordian cuz I was thinking a little accordian would
fit when I'm singing the actual headline, but I was gonna find something midi,
and that would be tacky. But yea I'm definitely posting a produced version
soon. Thanks.

Another well done song
I realize it's a sketch, but well captured. Your voice here
reminds me of Gary Lightbody (Reindeer Section, Snow
Patrol),

Sweet and sad
I like the simple pared-down arrangement ...
although I think it would sound good with more
instruments too. You do have a really great singing
voice ... gentle and loaded with emotion. Keep
posting your music here ... I think you will quickly
build up a lot of fans!
