Hmmm, I like this straight off - it's quirky, not too
repetitive, with lots of musicality and fresh ideas. The
combination of sounds, and the diverse arrangement adds
up to something interesting, and it's melodic enough to
enjoy all the way through - but never cheesy or
predictable in its tunefulness. It sounds like film music - it
would suit visuals. Nice production. Very creative.

Thanks for the comments. Quirky is why I put the Eccentric in the title. This seemed to fit, as a good number of the loops did. The loops were ALL ambient but from 2000 or 2001 anbient styles. I just hadn't mixed and matched them until now.

Very cool
You have some gorgeous sounds here. Many of them are the
required kind for ambient, and your piece has the very light
percussion that goes with ambient, but it's sufficiently
different that I'll give you good marks for originality.

I've played this track a couple of times now, but I can't get a
sense of the structure: where the composition as a whole is
going.

Could you post some comments on what software /
hardware you use? I'm curious. It sounds very good.

Thanks for the comments. The loops are from collections that I purchased in 2000 or 2001 but didn't do any serious work with them until now.
There's a 7 minute version that is a different arrangement using the same set of loops and is on icompositions. Search for my pseudonym and you'll find it there. I liked both versions so wanted to share them both. This other version is a 3.5 minute mix copied twice so feel free to stop listening if it seems boring or repetitive.
Mixing is done in GarageBand with post production (what bit there is) done on a Sony laptop with Goldwave audio

Now This
is fantastic. A wonderful combination of fx, synths and
beats.
I love how you weave the sounds in and out, they are
blended together beautifully.
A rather stunning track all in all..

Many thanks for your comments.

It makes me happy to know that people are not only listening to my mixes but that some folks actually like them.

Thanks once again and keep up your great music.

You have put this together in an interesting way,
indeed... I like the organic, flowing nature of it. I
agree with Attim... this is pleasing without being
predictable.

Part of the mix secret is that I had a bunch of loops and I mixed each track using the loops together as I opened them, in no order except alphabetical. Then I cut and pasted bits together to make the final mix that you (and others) have heard.
Motivational madness.

I enjoy creating music using computers and 'synthesized' as opposed to 'real' instruments. I have no problem using samples/loops in my music. Everyone does this every time they work with a track. I don't fit in any box and thoroughly enjoy working ou... [see more]
