Lyrics
Irony is noticing how clearly we could see
Before we knew anything about the world
And of my many fears, oh, the worst I had in years
Is the reminder of the distance between what I am and what
I used to be, I used to be
Chorus:
Sweet hypocrisy
I blame you for me
Self depricating, comforting but false
You are so plain to see, yet retaining subtleties,
Let our words not define who we are
I went out one night with a group of friends, there was one I like but couldn't comprehend, why she wouldn't even look my way.
So I got involved in her stupid games
getting louder and louder, but fading away into the background, that's when she turned and said.
She said "Don't you think I know that I'm in your sights...you've been acting strange and staring all night...
SO cut the shit, say what you've got to say
Before your confidence fades away into"
Chorus:
I froze in my tracks, my head spun off couldn't focus or mumble a single thought
Just turned as she walked away.
So what's the moral of this pathetic little tale?
Step up or step out not to try is to fail, and act the fool cause it's who the world was made for.
People like
lovely, lovely, lovely Leila lying in her thoughts
Cause love can, love can, love can be lonely when left unrequieted
And lovely, lovely, lovely Leila is lying in her thoughts.
Cause love can, love can, love can linger after it departs.
Chorus a capella:
Sweet hypocrisy I blame you for me
Self depricating comforting but wrong
You are so plain to see so fuck subtlety
Our actions must define who we are.
Oh Sweet....our actions must define who we are
Before we knew anything about the world
And of my many fears, oh, the worst I had in years
Is the reminder of the distance between what I am and what
I used to be, I used to be

Hard hitting lyrics. I am roped in even before I press the play button...
Oh, man. The experience just got better. You really lay it out with
energy and clarity. The hard truth that peels away the hypocrisy. High
marks. I especially like the chorus. Sweet. I also like the change-ups on
"presence" -- i.e. fast switches from wet (reverbed) to dry (unreverbed).
With minimal instrumentation and percussion, you strongly focus on
the message.
