having a listen
The introduction to this piece started out quite interestingly (I havn't
listened to part one so I don't know if there's a connection).
Interesting sounds, a wide stereo spread and not really sure what to
expect after that. Quite ambigous to a certain extent, which was cool.

The main jam of the piece did sound cool, but the production let
everything down quite substantially. After the drums came back in the
second time, virtually everything was sounded dead center until the
very end, which just makes the mix sound very small. The bass also
sounded very weak... using a sustantial treble reduction would allow
you to bring up the volume of the bass substantially without it
interfering with the other sounds. Also on the rhythm guitar, a lesser
treble reduction could be worthwhile as the high plecktrum sound was
quite distracting from the lead guitar.

But eitherway, found the introduction quite interesting and the jam was
pretty cool.

once..
..the tune started, I liked it. I like your guitar riffs and the cool vibe of
the song. you play well with the delay. Sounds like a tune that could
have some cool lyrics and singing. Nice progression. nice vibe. I don't
think the beginning part meshes with the musical part. Maybe you're
losing people before they get to the music. Then you have the chick
moaning. Why she moaning? Does the song represent love-making? I
dig that. I like the music, the extra stuff in the beginninig...it's just
extra stuff.

A little bumpy on one change
I almost missed the turn when you came in with the bass part but hanging
with it revealed more cool things. I'm not sure what was going on with
the virgin sacrifice at the start but it sounded good hearing about it. I
agree with The Composer that it needs a different mixdown as I was
getting quite a bit of distortion in the bottom. It's happening, tho'.
Thanks.

Great song
I really liked the begining and I think that the song as a whole, it has a
very nice groove going. I do agree w/ The Composer to some degree; if
you can somehow get the bass rumbling just little heavier and w/ some
solid licks, it would make all the difference in the world. The same
goes for the drumwork; but PV is the only MJR that I can think of who
could drive this along w/ some bangn' drumwork. Love the guitar
strokes especially, and I even like this peculiar structure of the piece as
a whole. What is that woman doing anyways... - Is she part of the
band or just another groupie goin down with the best of them... I get
that she at least enjoyed her contribution to this...

I hope that I'm not being offensive w/ my remarks, as I know that I
could be missing your intent w/ this piece. I would feel horrible if I did
and as well, my apologies if this is so. If not, this is a very nice groove
that I'd love to work on w/ you if you're so inclined....

Nice work though, Ronnie - I do like it alot - Cyd

Out on a limb....
... sounds like you're making some music strides and have a grandiose
vision here. As always, James, your playing is great.

I'm gonna comment here, honestly, so please don't take this the wrong
way... the intro was fabulous as was the music. The weak link in the
chain, unfortunately is your production. On it's own, your production is
fine. Next to highly produced collection of loops, however, it can't
stand up...

BUT, don't stop this avenue of songwriting. Eventually, your
produciton skills will catch up.... and when it does... watch out. You're
thinking outside the box and taking risks. That makes for intersting
listening.

Good job James. I would love to hear more like this...

Out on a limb....
loops are so easy to make sound good if you dont add any real instruments........ignore the loop set ronnielong, this is awesome.
production belongs in studios anyway....................
