Description
This is a song that I've been struggling with. I think it has amazing potential nad I've been treaking to try and get it right. I still feel there probably is work to be done, but I would love fellow MJ'ers objective feelings on it. Thanks :D.

Lyrics
As I Come
© Aaron David Polley 2006

Verse 1
As a child I come
As a new-born babe
I thirst to know
What it means to live with truth and hope
A child of the one who set me free

Chorus
As I come
As You call
As I run
I try not to fall

As I see
What’s inside of me
Your perfect love
That You gave to me

Verse 2
Full of shame and without hope
Lost in sin, afraid to turn and go
Back to arms of love
That held me close
I fall before the Lord of everything

Bridge
Now
I see
The truth
You set me free

I’m
In Your hands
In Your Will
In Your plan

Really good!
This is very well done. I think the best thing I've heard so far on this site from a song writing standpoint. I could've heard this on the radio today.

It's pretty decent but the ending was rough like you suddenly ran out of
runway or something. Also, when you hit 'Me' part of the chorus, there's
an oddness that I can't quite describe; the harmony just didn't quite gel.

Your lyrical skills are pretty tight. You stay on-target without any
contrived flim-flam and that's nicely done. The acoustic guitar is a good
accompaniment and the synth lead at the end was tastefully done
(climbing up to Heaven, perhaps).

I wouldn't change it a whole lot (except the ending) or you run the risk of
over-producing it.

P.S. You might want to reconsider the genre. This is definitely not rock. You
might get some more traffic that way.

Well, I would bring the synth solo a little more presence. It sounds a little anemic. Otherwise, a well executed, well sung song. One thing: the second time you sing the chorus sounds EXACTLY like the first pass. Are you that consistent or did you cut and paste?

nothing to struggle with
this sounds ready for prime time to me. well written and nicely
produced. still reeling from all the great music here at mj. this is just a
great track. are you playing all the instruments? that gtr in the front
end was neat, kept waiting for it to come back at me :-) was not
dissapointed.

nit pick a little
1st the songwriting and vocal performance are right on the money...
the song is so good that I want to hear less of the techno producing...
and more of your guitar and voice... When we produce anything we
have to hear how/where the song is set... A great picture won't look
right if the frame is all wrong... the more real this song sounds the
better... I know the temptation to over produce to hide my flaws, but
the song I have done the best with, I just put out there with guitar &
vox, even though I have a ful blown version w/drums, elec guit, violin
the works...
I hope I didn't overstep my bounds,,, I say this because the song is
everythng... & when we have a good one every part of a recording
should take us towards the heart of it

Better than 98% . . .
. . . of the "sameness" I hear on contemporary praise radio. Great "rejoice
in the car" song too. Keep it up. Breath of fresh air.

Sincerity...
...always comes through - and this song has it in spades. Nice job with the production and the songwriting. I'd love to hear the acoustic guitar with more "body" and fullness - it seems a bit thin. The keyboard sounds and performance is my favorite part of this production!
