Description
This song started out two weekends ago as a sketch around a few nice chords. For some reason it developed into a rather poignant trip for me down memory lane to a very sad event over 20 year ago..... the loss of my young sister-in law.
I recorded and mixed this from scratch yesterday and I'm really pleased with how it has turned out ..... but I do apologise for my faltering vocals...... my singing is usually confined to the shower! I'd love it if someone out there with a decent voice wanted to collaborate on vox
cheers and thanks for listening!

Lyrics
Do you remember that day
When Jane passed away
I didn’t know what to say
To anyone, anywhere
We were in the Welsh peaks
For the three thousands round
We sweated off pounds
Dawn ‘til dusk, up and down
Though the going was tough
On that thirty mile race
So much easier to face
Than your lonely last hours
-------------------------
Still I focussed on you
For all of that day
And in a strange kind of way
You helped me get through
How could fate be so cruel
To spare the sinner and fool
Yet steal a young wife
And mother of two
--------------------------
And for those who remain
Can their lives be the same?
You should know that the answer
Is no, surely no
Still your memory lives on
Though the years have rolled by
Your grown kids are free spirits
I see you in their eyes
When Jane passed away
I didn’t know what to say
To anyone, anywhere
We were in the Welsh peaks
For the three thousands round
We sweated off pounds
Dawn ‘til dusk, up and down
Though the going was tough
On that thirty mile race
So much easier to face
Than your lonely last hours
-------------------------
Still I focussed on you
For all of that day
And in a strange kind of way

To spare the sinner and fool
Yet steal a young wife
And mother of two

Is no, surely no
Still your memory lives on
