1645 Waltz

Description
This is simply a construction of several loops I created with GB3. There's a paucity of loops in anything but 4/4 in the GB collection, so I created these software loops in 3/4 time, and then was just playing with them. I got 11 loops to sound pretty good together, I think. The 1645 isn't a year - it's the chord progression. Think 'Heart & Soul'.
The form is different than the norm. Especially for me, since I'm kind of fussy about having a recognizable form for my music. This has intro, two themes, build, new melodic theme, and final build, combining all themes.

Don't ya
Lots of people in period dress twirling and twirling... Don't ya just love 3/4? This is sunny and light and pleasing to the ears. Excellent build.

Thanks for listening and commenting. I do like 3/4 and I like 6/8 even better, so
I try to write in those time signatures as often as possible.

Yes, there are few non 4/4 loops - but thank goodness, the situation
encouraged me to start learning more quickly how to create my own.
This was enjoyable and your description instructive, which I appreciate.

I'm glad you commented. I ended up doing this piece, as my daughter says, 'Like
Pachelbel's Cannon, only different'. It was a way to see if I can put some loops
out there and have them sound like music to me. I don't get into the whole 'are
loop compositions really compositions' scene, but I do usually need more
creative room than loops can provide for me. Anyway, thanks for listening and
commenting.

:)
That makes a certain amount of sense, considering most people have two feet to
move to the music. Thanks for listening and commenting.

Usually...
...as a French horn player, when I hear "waltz" or "march" I run screaming
in the other direction. :) However, this one sounds like it would be a fun
one to play. I applaud you for taking it on yourself to creat your own 3/4
loops, and then for taking them and putting them together is such a nice
arrangement. I love the build and the different themes compliment each
other very well to produce a rich and intricate work.

Usually...
I sit next to the French Horn player in city band. She always sighs when we get
to the marches in the second half of the concerts. I'm on Bari Sax, so I play the
'oom' She gets the 'pah'. I understand the tribulations of a horn player from that
perspective, so you can see I gave a lovely, melodic line to the hornist in my
fantasy orchestra. Thanks for listening and commenting, despite your initial
trepidation.

Beautiful
I choose the track on the basis of the title. And since you clearly elaborated on the contruction-->
I tried to listen to the construction of the piece. Hmmm, i can learn a lot from it. I recognize a lot to. Nice climax, beautiful layering. I have no musical background what so ever, so i just do what comes to mind. I did all of my tracks live. Very insightful for me this track. Thank you madam for sharing.

And thank YOU for listening
It's nice to hear a new reaction to a piece that's been here for awhile. I am a music teacher, so the theory and form of music are things that I find useful in my understanding and appreciation of music. However, there are many MJers who don't care one bit for those things, and still write awesome music. That is one of the things that I like about music- that it can be appreciated on so many levels. I enjoyed getting your comments on this.

My pleasure madam! And i admire honest reactions, they seem to become a rarity. I know i need to take piano lessons to get it to another level, without losing something. Ill be checking more songs of you. Thanks for sharing your thoughts

Hello
was mooching about and I hit on this by random.Good thing too, its very nice and relaxing. I don't quite understand the 1645 chord progression thing tho',but then again I tend to play and create music a bit like a bull in a china shop ........head down and go for broke....I'm going to start a folder of instrumental and neo-classical style music ...this is first in the bag.
