Sycamore Grove

Description
A melancholy piece where the inspiration comes from a grove of sycamore trees in my town. While a path takes you along these living monuments, they are fading and will some day, like all of us pass away.

Lovely
I enjoyed this piece very much. I liked the simple piano voice being surrounded by various strings. The piano was like a tree, standing firm while the world changed around it.

The very last chord was about to finish everything off nicely when the strings come in again with the third and dominant of the chord for about 2 or 3 beats. It was a little jarring for me.

I also missed some additional colour in the instrument palette of your piece. Some woodwinds here and there to echo the piano melody, perhaps. Or maybe the melancholy sounds of a French Horn to parallel the mood of the piece.

Minor suggestions. Really about personal taste.

Overall, a truly lovely piece.

Lovely
Thank you,

This was a big departure for me. My main genre would be standard rock/
alternative. But with the capabilities of Garageband I've been able to realize
what's been in my brain.

Having just too much fun with the possibilities.

Nicely done
I really enjoyed listening to this piece.

There were a few times I wish I heard a little variation in the instruments,
like charliechen mentioned, but, overall, very moving.

Thank you for sharing.

Quite pretty
Very lovely piece, Roy. I especially like the fact that you had to move out
of your normal genre to create this, and yet I still feel ease in the
composition.

Congratulations on creating this beautiful song. I look forward to hearing
more of your compositions.

Magnificent
This is luxurious and powerful. Such nice legato and crescendos. I'd love to sing over this aural landscape. I am inspired. You are a writer and performer!

My next song will also be a instrumental, over the top with emotion, but I'm
excited about getting it done and posted.

This one blows my mind!
Really great instrumental song - I love it.
The piano that caress your mind, the slow strings
in the background ... nice, nice

Sounds like big film music.

very inspired
a colorful and joyous composition. Like sycamores in Autumn. Deftly played with emotive nuance. Killer melody

Lovely tune
Very calm and peaceful. I liked the way you brought in the strings. The song sounds like a simple arrangement but there's more going on here than you're at first aware of. It builds nicely. I could listen and see the wind fluttering through the leaves. Wonderful job.

Why I love GB
This is why I love GB so much. I can go from art rock to something sublime like this so easily. It's given me more expression than I could hope for.

Now it's my turn to go through your tunes %D

Thanks Gail
And thanks for your support in listening to some of my music. I'm sorry to say that it's hard for me to get around to do the same. But I did listen to your "Sleep" tune and must say how impressed I was on so many musical levels.
