Description
I posted an earlier version on other sites. But I tried to refine this one with a bit better micing. Hope you like it.
With this version I change the mics. For the guitar hole and bridge I used a shure stick mic and for the frets and other side of the hole I used a large MXL mike with a boom.
Composed orginal by Bach

Superb
Bill, You make transposing Bach to guitar seem so effortless. I know it has
taken many years to perfect your talent, yet you play like it is the natural
thing for you to do. And to think that you run a fulltime business as well!
Where do you find the time to practice?

Exceptional treatment of another classic.

God bless,

Rick

for stopping by. I don't drink or smoke, I really don't travel a whole lot. So
my vice is that I am addicted to composing and playing. Thank goodness
I have tile installation to make me money cause I might starve with music.
I could be one of those guys out in the streets with my cup and a cheap
$50 dollar guitar hoping to grab a few cents from the passerbys, in hopes
that the coin landed in my cup as holding the guitar and cup could be
kind of shakey as the car continues from stop to start :)

Simply gorgeous. There's a delicacy to this one that just exudes peace.
I never cease to be amazed by what you and that guitar can
accomplish.

Another Wonderful One
I think the new mic setup worked great! Maybe it is just the piece itself
but I hear a mellowness that was not there in some previous pieces. Of
course I realize there are all kinds of things that could effefct that from
how old your strings are to the kind of attack you are using with your
fingers. The piece itself is just beautiful. I really do love Bach on the
guitar!

Another Wonderful One
Thanks bronco for being so preceptive. Changing the stick mic to hole and
going with the large condenser to towards the frets makes for a nice change I
hope the listeners can appreciate. I might continue with this set up for a while as
long as I feel I am making a difference with the sound.

Thanks again

Tone
I enjoyed this a littile more than some of your busier pieces. It was a
calming and heartfelt performance. The tone of that guitar is lovely and
sustained. It was a pleasant journey.btw I've never heard playing that fine
on a street corner.

To: E

Hi E:)
Thanks

I'll have to admit I used it today, cause I had to go to go to protest a traffic
citation. The police saidI didn't stop on a red light, (2 left one way streets) to be
honest I was listening to this waiting to go into to court. It helped relax me, I
don't like going to court at all.

Fluid and Peaceful!
Very clean, rich sounds. Gentle tones. How do you keep the strings
squeaking down?

Marily, my spouse, works elbow to elbow with me in our little office.
She said, "That's pretty." (Marily is a fan)

Well done!

Phrasing
Phrasing is, I think, what sets your guitar work apart, Bill. I love all the
gentle hesitatons which you sprinkle throughout your playing.

Tone, technique, and intonation are impeccable. How come you're not
opening up for some major artist on a national tour?

Thanks John, that would be an incredible dream. I think that is easier said than
done. I guess that would be about the utlimate for me. Thanks soooo much for
saying that. Your music is terrific as well.

New Age Acoustic perfection
This is so precious. Full of warm nostalgia, excellent phrasing, so nicely
mic'd. Mmmm. This ranks up there with Will Ackerman. Really nice.

New Age Acoustic perfection
Thanks Tobin! I changed the mics aournd putting the stick mic towards the hole
and the Mxl 2001 - uni directional towards the lower portion of the frets but
aimed towards the hole. In other words the 2001, is a large mic and picks up the
bass easier and I think it over compensated when I stuck it near the hole.

Guitar playing is a far cry from tile installation that is for sure. Not quite as
dusty, dirty, and not near as much heavy lifting. I guess those are three great
things I really love about recording, playing and composing.

Thanks !

Sound
The sound is so big and so beautiful. Your masterful musicianship people
have come to expect but the richness of this recording is extraordinary. It
almost sounds as though you have accompaniment. The sustained bass
notes make the whole thing float like those clouds in your picture.

Sound
The floating is what I love to do, to give it a feeling of real sustain from the hole
of the guitar. It is an endless art, but I get a real kick out of trying to get better
at it.

It's not that really a genius thing, it is just loving what I do. I love the aspect
of recording as much as I do playing and composing. With Garageband being
so user friendly it opens up a limitless avenue of possibilities for the solost.
Instead of recording in the studio and worrying about the time limit and and
use GB and have so much pressure taken off you.

Thanks

Oh, Bill, what a lovely gift for a Sunday morning (even if I'm a week

about how you can make that instrument sing through your fingers.
