Lyrics
Letting go,
'Ain't so easy ..
Someday -
I'll let you know.

I see it in your eyes,
I see it in your smile
I see it in your face-
That I've been wasted.

An' I know, there's time
An' I know, this time.

Letting go,
'Ain't so easy ..
Someday -
I'll let you know.

Don't bother...
...about the quality. This is a beautiful song that might need some "carpet
instruments" in order to make it sound kind of "arranged". The structure
is a simple but effective one. I don't think you sing all too bad!

Don't bother...
thx for the tip and comment .. it was done very quick and simply
(there's rather obvious mistakes in the guitar and vocal part - "time" being
out of tune!.. and I took most of the recording time to get the vocals down ... I
usually only ever do backing vox for obvious reasons ... but it's fun trying.

I liked the stuff your doing with rchletty - now, he has a good voice.

I'll come back to this one later on .. I have my 'finger in many pies' ...

wow i like the metallic sound of guitar, and the way you strum & the vocal
:) sounds organic and emotionally charged

that, very apt!

Nice tune
This is a cool track...you could build it up but it sounds fine in this
intimate version I think. You are a good singer by the way...certainly a lot
better than me!...so keep at it

Great feel to it
Really enjoyed the chords/guitar work the lyrics were good but the
vocals were not at the same level as the rest of the song. maybe the
effects? But still a good tune. You could really build this one up.

Great feel to it
thx for taking the time Bob ... don't think any more effects will help I'm afraid...
unless there is one that can give you a 'voice'. I'm particularily good at shouting
though ... ;oD

As I mentioned in the description, it was a testiment to my .. etc.

PS. Don't take offense to me having you collecting your old age pension in
another of my songs .. ;oD

Good song!
The song is very good, and i really like the sound you get on the acoustic. havent heard a guitar sound like that before! I think your voice sounds very good!

Good song!
cheers - the guitar sound is, in all honesty not really intentional .. I just
play about with mastering with that AUCompressor thang .. and ta da!
I really am new to using Garageland ...!

It's been mentioned it sounds metallic .. it's not recorded mic'd .. that
might help .. otherwise, I think with my Yamaha APX-8A .. that's what I'll
get ...but it suits my percussive purposes ...

cool
Tanks alot! .. as Rommel used to say ..

I do not believe I have ever heard the track you mentioned but I'm just about
to ... nope, never but I like that heaps, as Uriah used to say .. is it the song
sentiment, the picked guitar that sounds a bit phaserish or the combination?- it
cannae be the vocal ye mean ... it 'ain't the length for sure! Damn it man .. what
is it!! ;oD

oh- nearly forgot: winch ma bags and Slàinte mhor ya bass ... ;oD

WELL
I liked it ... I liked the simplicity of it .... it is just a nice little tune .... the ending was a tad abrupt .... and maybe it was a little too short ... sometimes I am just getting into the song and it just ends .... sigh !

WELL
Thanks! Simple is best is my motto .. I gave up trying to be a 'flash' player
after about 3 years of playing and decided to leave that to someone else and
focus on writing instead - that, and the fact nobody else I knew at the time
seemed to be able to come up with anything.

The only thing I want to try adding to this is a piano part and maybe some
'yeah, yeah, yeah' yeah's .. ;oD - and of course sack me on lead vocals.

I get bored very easily and have a very short ...... er, concentration span -
hence I fire out some short 1min things here and there before I want to take
5mins of people's lives ;oD - you would just have got bored with it, trust me.

Perhaps I should consider adverts ... nah, maybe not.

Nice vocals indeed. You might consider adding a bass and maybe a sacond guitar. Excellent sound. Thanks.

Great song
Tack så mycket algabatz!.. and thanks for taking the time to comment .. I will
return the favour tomorrow and listen to all or at least some of your uploads.

This is me 'as raw as I would ever let anyone hear me' ... I may do a
complete version of this later on - with full instrumentation. This is
how alot of my tunes start .. apart from the electric guitar ones ;oD

Mvh,

Nice job.
Really? Cheers breezer- I will get back to this one later ... interesting to have
quite a mixed bag of opinions about my vocals .. personally I usually like to
mix them just to the point you should still just about be able to make out
what's being said .. eg. see: Where's there's a will.

I think for me the thing is, I am well aware I am not a singer in the true sense
.. as 'my voice' has quite limited application ...also
I can 'get away' with it after many takes .. to achieve any consistency/quality
for vocals live I had to rehearse for about 2 months (about eight 1 hr
sessions).. no kidding- not the case for my guitar skills .. and singing at the
same time as playing guitar usually just forced me to simplify what I played
on guitar.

I believe you are too kind ;oD May I enquire if you also thought I sounded
'american'?

I like
this song.
Nothing wrong with your voice at all..nice harmonies. I actually like the
simplicity of the whole track. I do think yes, with some more intruments
percussion and layering, it woud give another dimension.
but
I like it as is.

apb said 4191 days ago (May 29th, 2006)
I like
cheers slim, thanks for stopping in and faving this (!)... it's an oldie, that
seemed worthy of a new airing .. done like this
deliberately to show what I sound like pretty raw/naked ..

it is by no means finished. I'll come back to this with other instruments,
percussion etc in time.

Either I need to practice some piano playing first .. ;oD or find some nice tinkler
willing to help ...

way too short
your vocals are actually very good and love the acoustic but didn't like the sudden cut-off.

for the encouragement Annalia, I do need vocal confidence boosting for sure. I will come back to this and resolve the ending, this was just a quick 'demo'.

So charming.
You make songwriting seem so easy -- I'm jealous! This is a lovely short demonstration of your talents as a songwriter and singer. I like it very much as it is but I would also love to hear a fuller version of this, with some piano (as you say) and maybe even a wind instrument fluttering around.

...
thanks very much. There was a fair bit of adjusting, tweaks done here and there to this over several years - which of course doesn't show. I would love to have this re-voiced as a piece for piano and some strings, cello. Something to try playing myself and penciling alot ..unless I can find an able and willing pianist.

sheesh, another Alan joins the club, it's soon gonna get real confusing ;o)

I plan to re-do this (see above), hopefully with piano and strings- perhaps just "wishful drinkin' " on my part ;o)

(good live song that btw, would like to hear a studio version too)

Just been
listening to Henri Roger's piano post and thought I'd check out the original. Very nice song. I think your vocal sounds great on this; is that a phaser effect on your vocal? Whatever it is, it sounds good, and works for this song. I like the lyrics and the changes are sweet. Very cool. Nicely done. Peace.

Thanks Dave

.. hmm.. checks file: there's a "flanger" on the vocals .. if I recall correctly part of the idea of the approach for this recording was to 'do as little as possible' in the production .. and snap a kinda naked recording in some way, if you see what I mean. As such, I think I chose a "pop vocal" GBv3 preset, which I think comes with that flanger effect .. and I just rolled with it... with some minor mods it appears.

Henri's version I couldn't be more happy with .. if your
reading this .. go here to hear what we're talking about.
