Description
I am doing a series of songs based on some of the wonderful women who have touched my life. Susan was intensely interested in everything metaphysical and lived her life as a meditation. She was a great inspiration to me.

This song is meditative and seems to resonate in my heart area. I hope it does with you too. It might be a good song to unwind to after a tough day. There are no vocals in this song, but I will include the thoughts coming through as I wrote this song, in the Lyrics section below:

Lyrics

This is a song

of love and affection

For a great gal

who is not here now

Wish that I'd answered

her calls on my phone

But I was too late

This woman passed on

But she will forever

live on in my memory

Chord Progressions...
Very nice chords! The subtle changes throughout are
wonderful. My "Anahata Chakra" has been touched as
your's has. Keep posting!

Very meditative
This is a very cool piece! It's very fluid, like
meditation should be, I suppose. I do get that feeling
of floating through some sort of calming liquid. Man,
my song descriptions are weak!

If I were to make any change, I suppose it would be
to find that happy medium with the "digital stepper"
instrument. Seems to jar me a bit in places, but in
others, I really like it, too.

touching.
i think youre right.
it does touch the 4th chakra. i like this.

i hope that susan is well.
dukkha patta ca nidukkha.
bhayapatta ca nibhaya.
sokapatta ca nisoka.
hontu sabbe pi panino.

the cellos seem like 'our' voices...and the synth sounds
like susans.
to me at least. its like a conversation with the deceased in
a dream.

touching.
That's uncanny, I almost put a similar comment about the cellos! Wow...

Shanti, let the river flow
Stars in the river move with the rhythms of tears, fluid and
distant. Cool and touchless, warm with memory. A place
to rise and fall without effort. Shanti, shanti, shanti.

thanks everybody
I sure didn't mean to avoid acknowledging Alimar, packosmokes, gudkarma,
TobinMueller and Mr. El Oval's good comments about this song! Now that I've
been on here a few days, I see that there's a lot of "back&forth" between the
artists and listeners of songs. I'll keep more on top of that in the future!

Thank you, all, for your great support here. This is a great site with an
incredible amount of talent.

I am honored to be a small part of it.

Truly delightful
Cameron-
I very much enjoy this piece. You seemed to have
accomplished your goal in writing this. It is a
beautiful song and it does invade my being as I
listen and then it carries me along with it. It also
encourages me to reach deeper within myself as I
compose. Bravo!

executed!

I love it
Great job.
This piece gives me a calmness imedietly.
I have listened to a ton of this type of music, and most of it doesnt really capture my attention like this one.
Susan would be enamored...

thanx
thank you for this lovely song, using the cello strings, how
did you get them to sound so real?
thanks also for your comments on my songs, I recognise
the classical background in both of us, (I play the cello)
and I am learning every day with garageband.
I learn from your work to use more simplicity, the art of
omission. This song is truly a gem, lovely melody, great
example of a drum-less backbone.

Had to post. Plus your music
First I have to say what got me over here now is your
wonderful compliments of my music plus honest critiques.
To me that is also part of your music in a way.

As I am typing I am listening to your tune and it is indeed
very relaxing. Especially after I looked at a tile bid today in
Marin County Ca., and got bit (not badly) by a dog when I
reached my hand out to have him smell me. The owner
was a little high strung as well but he seemed like he
accepted my bid.
But what I am saying all this may not seem related but it is
because your music really helped me calm a bit down.

Reading your post in regards to the music really does
seem like a homage to a loved one like they are in heaven
which coiuld very well be.

the arrival in Heaven........or something or the celestially analogous representation
wow.........great textures and palletes of sound are used
here and they convey the meaning better than any words
ever could. I had a person just like Susan in my life that
recently passed. And what struck me in your description
was the part about the missed phone calls and regrets
thereafter. This coincidentally is so familiar to me.

I love the dynamic range that you have used here and I
think that I hear flanging. I am new to a lot of these
effects so forgive me if I am blatently wrong, but I swear it
sounds like flanging, and possible some chorusing.

To me, I picture the arrival in Heaven........or something or
the celestially analogous representation. Colorful yet
simple..........full of light yet not compacted. Bold yet airy.
Grand yet light.

Well done all the way around!!!!!!

I did notice just a tad of clipped sound in the higher cello
part that is just about thirty seconds before the end of the
piece. Perhaps it was intentional though, and even if not,
it seemed to almost have been put there for a reason.

SIncerely,
MidiMacMan.

Wall to wall serenity?
Very nice piece. That (additive?) synth and those strings
go together very well. Very meditative.

Man...
Just please don't let on to me anymore of your music
for just a little whle. Finally I'm making it through all
of your music... -- I have never showered from my
clouds of sadness as much as I do when I hear your
music. It's all the good sadness and good tears of life
though. I don't think of me as an emotional person
but certainly, I am truly touched by your music...

Thanks!

Man...
Cydniko, your words of emotion are appreciated! I'm glad that my music
touches you so much. It does come from my heart.....it's not for everybody,
but I am gratified that you and others get something good from the music.

As I do from YOUR compositions! Keep creating them; they have a lot of
powerful energy.

Gorgeous
Well, it's lovely... I love the cello (?) melody, so romantic, so beautiful. I am not sure if you kept this series going (works dedicated to women who have touched your life), but I sure hope you do. It's just gorgeous.
