Lyrics
HUNTER
Stacey K. Black

and when i said good bye
i knew it would be forever
i did not even think twice
when i hit the trap door

and when i heard you cry
all the way down to the water
you sounded like a little lamb
being led to slaughter

CHORUS
i've got a habit of causing pain
is there some kind of short circuit in my brain?
you bring out the hunter in me
but i'm humane so i'll set you free

even though you clawed your way up
to the surface i would not see you
as anything other thing
than yesterday's fool

you stood there and looked at me
with an aching heart and eyes of glass
i could not bear to need you
so i just kicked your ass

CHORUS
i've got a knack for causing pain
is there some kind of short circuit in my brain?
you bring out the hunter in me
but i'm humane so i'll set you free

BRIDGE
bada la la
sometimes the hunter lives by hunger alone
and cannot see the prey for what its worth
sometimes the hunter has no flesh and no bone
a heart of stone no hearth no home

The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter, But...
*Ouch* ... there's no real sport in just breaking hearts.

Welcome back, Stacey. On hiatus again?

This IS a provocative lyric and you've sung it well --- as usual.

Nice effort on playing the guitar part, but it falls in and out of rhythm at
times during the difficult shuffle parts. You might fare better letting the
bongos carry those parts and just play some dramatic guitar strums over
them. ;-) --- Joe

Great vocal
Very nice, clear and strong vocals. The reverb or echo that is used almost
gets in the way a few times, but it is not a bad thing. The timing I think is
what gets lost a few times, and that corresponds with the echoes...so that
maybe what I hear. It is a very good song though, sounds very clean and
crisp. Well mixed, good balance. You sing very well.

Hey, Stacey...
I've been waiting to hear another of your songs....

I'm with Joe on this one, I think...

Your singing is really good, really strong. You're one of the best
vocalists on MacJams, in my opinion.

I think the song itself is strong, if a little scary. You seem to be
channeling some of my ex-girlfriends...

And, the bad news, is that something's going on in the timing that is
throwing the song off. At points I'm thinking it's just the guitar playing,
but I know you're a strong player. There are points where it seems like
it may be related to some delay or something. I guess I can't tell, but
that's the part that gets in the way of the delivery of the song for me. I
would love to hear this with the rhythm guitar timing just right.

Keep posting songs!

Sweet
Very nice voice. You have great tone. I agree about the echo in the song. I mean I like the idea your going for, but it echoes too many times in the beginning(I do like the way it sounds at the end of the song though, the bada la la part). I'd like to hear the echo subtly drift away.
I really like the tune. The second time the chorus comes in, when
you've got your background vocal come in, sounds awesome, you should have it in the first chorus too. I understand if you are using it to create a build up for the end of the song but it's too good to save for just the end. The Ahh-ahs in the background seem just slightly too soft. Sweet song I like it alot.

Thank you everyone!
Thanks to all of you for your insightful and spot-on comments and advice! I'll
rework it and post a revised later. No, I'm not on hiatus again, I just made some
time to squeeze that little bit of anger out of my cold black heart. I feel
refreshed and ready to tackle the next one!

Thanks again!

Beautiful!
This isn't my usual genre, but I do like to venture out here at Mac Jams,
to see (or rather) hear what everyone else has to offer. I must say that
I've been pleasently surprised on many occasion by doing so. You are
no exception to this. You sing beautifuly and you've done a great job in
the performance here. You've got a great voice that doesn't feel
strained or pushed beyond its capabilities. The only minor thing that I
noticed, is that the timing was off just a little, but let me tell you, that
it didn't keep me from enjoying your work at all. Fantastic job! Never
stop creating music. You do it very well! Cheers!

Really
strong playing and singing. I like the delay on your voice, and the energetic guitar, and good job with the other instruments. Really exceptional lyrics too, great job alround!

Vocal Inflection...
You have a pure, strong, crystal voice. one of the nicest i've heard. You have a real confidence and command of your vocals. You use just the right amount of inflection and vibrato. (things used toooo much these days.) When you use them and kick it up it really stands out and takes the listener for a ride. I could listen to you all day!
