Description
This is the uptempo half of a duo - the first one I posted was 'Melancholy'. This is titled 'Folk Dance. it's kind of a hybrid between software and real instrumental guitar. I couldn't figure out how to do harmonics with software instruments : )
Thanks to everyone who listened to these songs and took time to comment. Posting these pieces and then looking forward to some comments and criticism is a really important part of my weekend. Knowing I have an audience (and being part of an audience for other musicians) really inspires me to keep writing.

Vey Pretty
I wish I could play software instruments like you! Very nice sound and
pretty melody. :-)

Thanks for listening
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I spend lots of time in the software instruments 'tool
box' because there's something really satisfying about getting the sound i like
from there. (also because I don't practice the 'real thing' often enough.)

Simple, like me!
I enjoyed this immensely... it was "simple sounding", but had
delightfully twisty surprises, like the bass guitar upbeats interweaving
with the melody, and the really nice chewy harmonies that are
completely expected, except for a couple of really surprisingly cute
"Ha! You thought I'd play this, but I played THAT!" chords, that were
even better. This has little "smirks" hidden throughout it that made me
giggle. As for faking the "harmonic pluck" of a guitar, you could
probably get close with weird settings of distortion and EQ, but I
thought you tacking on the recording at the end was "cheating by
playing the real thing", which was itself a backwards smirky thing to
do, and thus made me smile even more.
ttfn,
Drakonis

Simple, like you!
I'm glad you spotted the sly little quirks. I was once a folk dancer, of sorts, and remember all of the practicing to get it right, in rhythm, in unison with the other dancers, yet, try to keep a fresh, exciting lively feeling, too. I may have had some of that in mind when I wrote this piece.

Mmmm, minors....
This is lovely, KJ - I'll have to go back and check the first half of this pair - this is really beautiful, but then, I find great beauty in minor keys all the time. It's very effervescent and waaaay too short - this could've gone on for a while and I would've been quite happy to soak it all in. It reminds me a tad of Ray Lynch and his work on the album "Deep Breakfast". A smiler, this one!

Up tempo and fun!
Something noble in this one ...feels a bit more upper crust than "folk" per
se.

I like how you counter the disciplined up beat feel in this to Melancholy.

Again this goes into the painting soundtrack!

Keep making music.. dont ever stop. The muses would weep.. truly.

Beautiful
composition this. It seems like it's playable on a real guitar, I
mean: it's not just a piece which uses classical guitar but a piece
that's for classical guitar. So do you write this on guitar and then
play it on software instruments?
Bye

Hi Denny
Yes, I actually have played this on classical guitar, but I've been so out of practice that I was a bit embarrassed by how poorly I played it 'live'. The live pass was where I got the final harmonic chord. All of my stuff for classical guitar was actually written on classical guitar, and I have it notated and annotated for the guitar.
