Description
In a 19th Century ruin set high upon the hillside above the forests and lakes is an ancient room named after the view which can be seen from its windows. And with each passing day from there I have noticed the leaves changing and the passing of time. The woods in England especially around Cumbria have that Hansel & Grettel feel to them as you wonder home in the twilight. These things have been inspiring me for a while now,and this is the result.I'm not a great fan of synthesized instruments but the orchestra weren't able to fit in my room,so I had to make do with applying lots of reverb to instruments that don't remotely sound like what they are supposed to represent.Maybe one day before I die,I'll actually get off my arse and go and learn how to properly score music for the instruments of an orchestra.I'd love to hear it played for real. This is only part 1,because so many themes came out of the first phrase that it led onto all kinds of variations, most of which I can visualize but am taking time to transform into physical reality ! - if you know what I mean?

Very ambitious
Gets better and better as I hear it through. The themes and instrument choices work amazingly well together. Sounds like you could score for a real orchestra :)

Mysterious and hardy Cumbria
A delightful journey. Excellent arranging. Unhurried, full of discovery and magic. I love the fells around Cumbria. Like a tone poem, this track. Just delightful.

Nice and interesting
A nice and interesting piece. I feel sympathy with your feelings about the synthesized instruments. But this is faaar better than nothing. It gives us a chance to imagine what and how it can be.

Would be gorgeous to hear this live wiht a real orchestra!
A lovely piece.

Mac os X
Thank you - If anyone out there has an unlocked version of Muzys 2.0/3 for an old mac G3,os 9, I'd LOVE to hear from you! (richard.gray3@virgin.net) - I tried installing mac os x 10.2 on it the other day and just about managed to wipe every hard disk before getting it to start up again. Now its installed Its of not much use - except for swift internet browsing. So Part 2 of this epic something or other might have to go on hold..

What happened to the days of multi-tracking using two cassette players with detachable speakers and some cellotape!?
