Description
My passion for songwriting has led me to try many different ways of putting a song together. One which I go to when the others aren't working is to start with a title and then write the song around that. This was one of those songs.

Last night my car broke down
And then the wife started a fight
Seems like everything is going downhill
My troubles never seem to leave
But how have your hard times been?
Mine are doing just fine!
Sometimes it seems like I'm wasting my time
But my hard times are doing just fine
They say the economy is doing well
I don't know if I can tell
What good does it do to work so hard
If I can't pay my bills
The stock market is doing okay
But when we get gas we pay and pay
It seems like the jobs have all gone overseas
And I'm just down on my knees

This to me is what real folk is about, really nailing telling it just like it is.
