Description
This version, modified, incorporates the changes put forward in the Highly Valuabe Crit Comments on the previous, but inevitably lost, Song Page.
Pastorale.
Written at time of the Harvest Moon, One of Autumn's Great Gifts. Inspired by thoughts about an indominable friend and Poet, Ms. Jane Kerrigan O'Keefe. Clearly, to know her is to know that she would have the Hula Moon as Her parasol.
A bit more Up in outlook than CHANGED SINCE THEN.
Again, this is the "Mule" for a Collab in progress. May not sound this way, ultimately, but this is how it started.
Very Best Regards,
The Loon

Lyrics
THE LOON AND THE HULA MOON
The Fog comes tumblin’
Up the Coastline’s edge, And
Inside my head,
Ideas are tumblin’
And Rumblin’
Too.
The Thunder stopped,
The Rain will, Soon,
While Waves beat the Rock,
Where stands the Loon
Lookin’ So long and hard
At the Sea.
Don’t know What it is
He wants
More and More
As he keeps lookin’ Harder
To See
What he doesn’t
See.
Sun goes fallin’
In the Clouds,
Then’ll come the Dark,
But, It ain’t Loud.
‘Cept for the lightening in my Brain,
Blindin’
Me.
North wind Comes
Blastin’ and Dancin’
Blowin’ the Rain
‘Gainst my Face
But it don’t replace
The numbness ‘round my Heart
Where the Love for You
Used to be.
Just when It Is
I
Can’t
See
There, coming
Right towards Me
An Old Friend.
She waves.
Calls my name,
Like a Tune.
The Rain it stopped
The Wind’s gone Low,
She’s Striding Along.
She’ll be Here, Soon
On the Waves ‘hind her
I see
She’s Brought the
Hula Moon.
Yeah,
The Hula Moon
She’s brought the Hula Moon.
Of All Things!
(And tell your money, Be Shy)
Her Wan Smile
Is a Lullaby
To the This and the That,
That They Say to Prove that
They’re Better than You.
RIGHT HERE.
Big as
ALL and ALL.
The Hula Moon is Her
Parasol.
She’s bringing Gifts and
Nobody
Even ever
Asked her to.
The Loon raises his Wings above His head,
He’s seeing what he saw,
And All the Saying’s been Said
He
Steps into Flight
Swoops into the Night
And over the Tree tops
He’s Swooping,
Toward His
Hula
Moon
Yeah,
He’s Swooping towards
The Hula Moon.

...if that's at all possible! I'm sad about the loss of the old comments...but I like the pay-off! Besides...this should generate a huge batch of them! What can I say but I love everything about this piece---from the Dylan-esque vocal delivery to the Brian Jone-ish lead soloing. A sonic marvel!
Be well!
