Description
An instrumental work in progress. I was trying to make the saddest music I could at the moment. Feedback welcomed and encouraged.

Not that sad...
... I'd rather say melancholic (I'm in a very joyfull mood at the moment, so it's very subjective). Nice keyboards floatting around. I found the intro a bit too long, you need to make the piano coming sooner or add others instruments. I see how things works here, if you don't grab attention in the first minute... Carry on, mate, you have something quite nice to work with.

thanks...
I see what you mean about the intro, it is rather lengthy. And I thought about that as I was working on it but I really wanted to establish that chord progression and maybe create some tension by letting it build. But you're absolutely right, it doesn't really grab you soon enough to want to stick around to the end. I really appreciate your feedback, I'll consider your comments as I continue to work on it. Cheers!

this is so wonderfully ...wide?
it feels wide. like horizontal. maybe like outerspace. it is introspective sounding. the pulsating pad sound sounds like purring of a huge lion or cat.... i like it.

why are you sad?

wide and horizontal
i was trying to limit myself to just a few tracks and a few sounds, but i wanted it to sound open and spacious. so i was glad to see it gave you that impression. thanks for listening! i was sad 'cause i had no news from you for weeks. :) don't worry, i'm joking.

Soft synths
Good use of soft sounds. It didn%u2019t give me a feeling of sadness, more of a sense of impermanence. All things must pass, but that%u2019s aright. I liked how the sounds drew me in. A gentle tremolo on synth, very low rumblings in the mix, and a good melody all come together quite nicely.

Thanks for listening!
I'm probably going to have to change my keyword, as nobody else seems to find this music sad. :) But that's okay! I appreciate your comments, I did like those soft synths and I'm pleased with the sounds, I think I just need a better mix and something else in that middle section. Hopefully I'll get around to remixing it before too long. Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment.

hi
I like the keyword. "sad". haha.

Anyway, hi nice to meet you. Just wanted to say hello and listen to some of your music. I think you did a good job in making this sad but when I listen to it I picture "reflection". You know, someone looking back at something or someone w/ tears in their eyes. But there is closure to it.

I just went off on a tangent but, I think it's nice for you to know that your music moves people. It is a beautiful song.

Closure
Thanks for listening and sharing such kind words. I also feel there is a sense of closure to it and I love the way the beginning and end are like bookends for the piece. It is a very simple, almost minimalist thing, it was hard not to keep adding to it. But I do intend to revisit it with fresh ears and all the feedback you and other kind mj'ers have provided.

love the mix of sounds. the warm backing 'noise' on this contrasts the emotive lead perfectly. i'd love to see more sections added to this
