Enthalpy

Description
Inspired by the Loop It contest (but apparently not enough to get it done on time), this my use of that loop.

I went for just a basic rock song, utilizing a step-wise bassline to show off how this loop works harmonically with just about any chord in the key. Also builds the song nicely.

That's me singing, playing bass, and slide guitar. There's the guitar loop, drum loops, cowbell loop, and what else... I think that's it.

The lyrics are stolen from another song of mine, "Starts With I".

I had fun with this one.

I'm choking... I'm choking!
No... wait... I'm laughing... laughing... oh my.

Now that's entertainment.

Is enthalpy another word for spagizm?

What a way to start the week.

Ha!
I've made you choke twice now. I will have to warn you next time. Or something...

Actually, I would associate Spagizm with Entropy, which deals with nature's tendency toward randomness. Enthalpy is change in heat content.

I could talk chemistry all day...

Thanks Stun, my father. Of music.

Loopy!
I'm glad you finished this, My-Name's-Not-Really-Pooey. You sound like you're having so much fun. It's utterly infectious...which I typed as 'infection' three times. I blame StunNutz (for everything).

Hmmm...
Yes, a bit of an identity crisis. You can still call me Pooey. But with my settin' up camp at myspace I had to go with something a little less, ummm, pooey.

Glad you liked the tune, LeDeb! Infection maybe more like it.

No matter
you could'nt finish this on time. The best, in my humble opinion, of the songs of the contest. Great singing and shouting (specially the shouting). Yes, you were inspired, man.

Whoa!
Thanks! I had most of the instrumental stuff down right away, but the vocals were tough. Every time I put some vox down they just were so lame. So yeah, finally one noon hour I came home from work (its about a 2 minute walk) and just belted. inspired--yeah, I think I was.

Thanks again for your comments!

Frank Black couldn't sing it better.

deltaH
this song certainly had an exothermic reaction on me...I really dug the slide guitar at the end, and you gave a great performance in the vocals! Great stuff...

Hey!
You know about Enthalpy! Excellent! Thanks for the comment. Yeah, I kinda gave it my all in singing this one. And it felt good. I will try it again (I tend to sing "nicely"; good Catholic boy you know).

The slide guitar thing is coming...thanks for the encouraging remarks!
