Description
This is a song written by Lafayette (Patrick) doing a cover on "A Horse with No Name" by America. I never really heard that song so this is my take on how it would sound if I had that track.

I really tried to work it with the harmonies. ;-)
I got carried away and started to whistle too. woo hoo!!!

Special thanks to Illuminator and Becwil for mastering the production on this piece. We all know I'm lost in that regard!

Hope you enjoy!
-Linda

p.s. The numbers are the routes I take to drive from NY to Boston. I drive fast you know ;-)

harmony overload . . .
. . .there were times that I couldn't process all the harmonies. I don't like the acoustic guitar plugged direct, but in context they work pretty well. I totally hear the America cover . . .I like the effect of the route numbers and the speeds.

thank you!
Thank you for the honest feedback. I am waaay into harmonies. I guess it's a reminder for me to slow down with them. I don't know i just couldn't picture the song without them! Anyway, thanks a bunch!

I like your song. I'm not a real judge of folk rock. But I did do sells for a CD manufacturing company for 7 years, so that makes my ability to hear crap pretty accurate. I look forward to checking out more.
Thanks again for stopping by.

I like the spin you do with a horse with no name. I can feel the singing in some parts. Your voice in some of the harmonies realy shine. You must have gotten into it, Great job

Good voice with good choices of harmony. Maybe a tad to often as mentioned by others;)

Nice with the whistling for variation.

Good guitar playing. The driving bass makes me move my feet:)

Don't like the sound of that guitar... but the rest of the song is great so as the vocals and the lyrics... The production is tight....

NICE VOICE
The guitar is a little weak but your voice sounds great! Why are you singing ove Horse with no name? Why didn't he play something original! Just curious!

thick harmony!
I love the thick harmonies--not too much for me. I agree that the guitar sounds like it was plugged in direct. Its got that fizzy, plastic-like Fishman undersaddle sound. Can't stand 'em even though I've got 'em in two of my guitars. Try using a condenser mic pointed at the lower bout of the guitar.

I'm a harmony freak, too! Check out an old post of mine at
