Description
A song from AmokOpera about the joys of work.
The beginning is supposed to munchkins, those hard working decent folk from the Wizard of Oz.
The intial orchestral phrase makes reference to the era of British light orchestral pieces heard on the BBC in the 1950s (specifically Worker's Playtime where factory workers were played music in an attempt to improve production)
It's gets a little weird at the end as I started to make more references to my own working life and returns to a psychedelic Wizard of Oz meets George Martin.
Lyrics and melody by Graeme Hobbs. Orchestration and performance by me with Charles Evans and Tim de Ferrars on Hammond.
