LIOLI #4

Description
I used the loop of the train mainly as a percussive element, and the piano midi file was used as the bass line. Also little bits here and there. Thanks to Sonny Jim for the last minute addition of the cool vocal stylings, and the bubble sounds from a super secret clandestine location which will remain un-named.

NOTE: My previous LIOLI 4 song posting had to be deleted due to a unforseen circumstance. I lost all the folks who became a fan of the song and their comments, but there is no way to edit your own comments on your own posting on this site (which is crazy) so I had to just delete the whole thing and re-post it. Bummer, and sorry to those affected.

All aboard!!
When this started, i wasn't sure of the direction, but it picked up a kinda distorted cool groove, and then your wonderful harmonies came into the disharmonious haze of this song. Unsettling but smooth, this is groovy but nervy, with, as per, really great production.

Nice work phil.

Well, twos anyway...
...The rhythm stays just the other side of normal on this... just not quite settling in to anything I'd expect... I love the train as percussion... It has been quite interesting hearing the different ways that different people have approached this loop...

Knowing what you're capable of...well, to some extent...I find myself wishing there was a spot where you brought in some of your electric guitar over the top... Or does that break a LIOLI rule? I haven't followed the whole thing...

Nice use of the piano as bass.. Sonny Jimm carries this with flowing vox. A smooth gathering of different elements... !!!!!

wonderful
good goin, guyz. love the in-your-face instruments, and matt's subtle loco vocal stylings blending with them. as ed sez, the choo choo train as percussion works a treat. elegantly excellent! anne

I went to school for the fine arts, painting, and taught that for a while, but I am now a graphic design executive by day, and a musician most the rest of the time. I play guitar and bass mostly, do midi synth stuff, use drum machine... [see more]
