Falling Stars #4

This is the current 4th (and last) of the series of Ambient mixes I made sometime last year, called 'The Falling Stars' mixes.

This mix is sufficiently different to call it more of another from the same batch of loops rather than a variation, I think, although it is a variation of sorts.

If you don't have the time for the full piece, listen to half. The second half only changes in that it fades out to end, having repeated the first half faithfully.

What a beautiful, crisp mix. There's some very pretty twists and turns in this. Are you playing the guitar parts -- on a guitar? Or are they synthesized. I really love some of the warm synth tones you have here.

Nothing is 'me' as such......
It's all magic mirrors, wands and sleight of hand.

I bought a compilation loop DVD from Magix, a company I've mentioned before, and there are always great sets of loops available.

As per the 'kid with the new toy' mentality I did my normal frantic, 6 or 8 mixes with different arrangements of the loops available and I just happened to find this mix whilst searching something else out, by chance. I usually file most of the variations to an idea until I either find them again or remember them for a particular use.

Leaving stuff also allows the DVD to cool down somewhat.

Thanks for stopping by.

Take care.

This is a very nice track, that meanders along beautifully. It reminds me of Steve Hillage/System 7, Mike Oldfield and Brian Eno, and they are some of my favourite artists. This track is up there with the best.

Thanks for stopping by....
Mike Oldfield and Brian Eno are two of my heroes and I've only just started listening to Eno's music, more than 28 albums, and I've a lot to listen to and think about.

The quality of the loops used always helps a mix. These happen to be crystal clear, balanced, beautifully played samples.

I just put them together in my form of musical jiz saw puzzle.

Take care.

What I really meant was......
I really meant musical jig saw puzzle.

I must get up earlier, to be awake sooner!

Eh -oop Sheffield (I lived in Barnsley for 6 years). When you put ambient, I was expecting something kinda ... backgroundy. This is a stunning mix, and a really lovely piece of music ... i've got Enos Oblique Strategies, but haven't managed to do anything like this.

Wonderful work.

Hi Steve....
I work in Barnsley (Grimethorpe) at the moment.

Eno's work is something else. I didn't know that he did such varied pieces of music. I'm enchanted by his various offerings.

The quality of the samples make this piece. I just put the pieces together and this sort of came out.

I'm happy that you enjoyed listening to the mix.

Take care.
