	weird!! I like weird. I can almost see the strings resonate of the bassguitar. The weirdness stems from the melotron, im sure. It is sometimes difficult to hear all the instruments. Did u record them with one mic? I am no expert at live recording (i use line out equipped gear). Good percussion, nice English-folklore-like melody at the end. This song has a nice flow.

	Anti-Riverdance? As this got near the end, that's what popped into my head. A slower tempo tune that could have been part of Riverdance, or similar :) I really like the drums you have going in this- nice driving beat. The whole tune is really cool, production sounds great! I tried to do what the lyrics said, but trying to keep still while listening to this is impossible.

Weirdo
Drums sound ace - sound like they're panned at 3 and 9 o'clock - odd choice, but works really well. I think this is really melodic Len - the chorus is kinda catchy, and I like the keyboard that follows the vocal line ... i think generally the vocals are mixed a little too low on this. Verses work really well - I like the piano mixed with the elctro sounds, and the grinding bass.

The lyrics are batshit crazy, and i Love 'em - they have a great internal logic to them.

Really strong track, and this sounds like you ... you're developing your own thing, which is always difficult.

D'loaded and fav'd after one listen. Really nice work.

Other than alternative
The term "alternative" rock meant something, oh somewhere back in the nineties, I guess. These days it's something I mostly avoid.

Unless of course it's made by people like lengold.

This track has some very creative touches. After a fairly standard drum pattern that choir is just lovely. The stereo processing on the vocals is also cool. The bagpipe-y violin is, hm, also different. But with the massive drums behind it it works fine.

Len,

this is a really sweet composition. I think I can get away with saying you have one of the best beat sensibilities here. Simple, heavy, driving atypical beats.

Your voice is so rich! I like the new danceless craze you sing about. They're doing it over there, but they don't do it here.

The keyboard melody is really nice. Good choice of instrument sounds. I love it Len!

is everything... really liked the drum tones... it would be nice to see some variation in the playing.. kinda just sits there. but the tone. man as real as it gets... your production, as usual is top shelf. must be why they call it PROduction..

you are a master at a beat. the drums are always great and i like them here very much again. i like the chorus, it is pleasant change from that "scary movie" melody to really melodic line. very nice is the change at the end with the last words "it's gonna get hard". the rhythm and drums are great but what is fascinating is the melody there. it is something what sounds medieval but middle eastern at the same time. and the end of the song, the very last chord is totally an ending of a tune of medieval times. very nice. i have a big weakness for music of that period :)

Love the big drums sound and all the different textures in this.

The wavering vox is a fab contrast to the unrelenting, strict beat, and the swirl of sounds--vocal and instrumental-- is the perfect icing on the sonic cake :)

(moments of this reminded me of the collab "wreck of the train wreck' that I did with biba_nova--a real venture in experimentation for me!)

It's taken me a while to get 'round to listening to some of your stuff - and apologies for that. This is flippin' weird if you ask me, but is strangely addictive. Is all your stuff like this?

i knew i had heard this one before......
i reviewed and commented under montgomery california... still, i got to listen again, and am actually getting different things out of it production wise... subtly tones and mixing elements... like the way the drums fill the whole space, not just center square... and the slightly off sounding keys...
and, i did not catch it before, but if this had a xylophone, it would be very close to a zappa tune... perhaps this would have been his direction.... ecclectic arrangements, with a modern, electronic spin.. yeah, i liked this a ton more the third time listening... i got a different experience each time...

Plato's Allegory of the Cave? How could you not know?

The Allegory of the cave is an allegory used by the Greek philosopher Plato in The Republic. The Allegory of the cave is told and then interpreted by the character Socrates at the beginning of Book 7 (514a–520a).

The Plot: Imagine prisoners, who have been chained since their childhood deep inside a cave: not only are their limbs immobilized by the chains; their heads are chained in one direction as well, so that their gaze is fixed on a wall.
Behind the prisoners is an enormous fire, and between the fire and the prisoners is a raised walkway, along which statues of various animals, plants, and other things are carried by people. The statues cast shadows on the wall, and the prisoners watch these shadows. When one of the statue-carriers speaks, an echo against the wall causes the prisoners to believe that the words come from the shadows.

The prisoners engage in what appears to us to be a game: naming the shapes as they come by. This, however, is the only reality that they know, even though they are seeing merely shadows of images. They are thus conditioned to judge the quality of one another by their skill in quickly naming the shapes and dislike those who play poorly.

Suppose a prisoner is released from his cage and turns around. Behind him he would see the real objects that are casting the shadows. At that moment his eyes will be blinded by the sunlight coming into the cave from its entrance, and the shapes passing by will appear less real than their shadows.
The prisoner then makes an ascent from the cave to the world above. Here the blinding light of the sun he has never seen would confuse him, but as his eyesight adjusts he would be able to see more and more of the real world. Eventually he could look at the sun itself, that which provides illumination and is therefore what allows him to see all things. This moment is a form of enlightenment in many respects and is understood to be analogous to the time when the philosopher comes to know the Form of the Good, which illuminates all that can be known in Plato's view of metaphysics.
