Lyrics
I don't know anyone who isn't a child. A wolf is a wolf, sparrow a sparrow, stone a stone. We are wolf and stone. We are the bright sky and the darkness.
The tree did not blossom this spring. No fruit. Hole pecked trunk and branches. Smooth gray bark, green moss patches. Leaves gather sunshine, sparse and clustered. Many branches dry and bare hang useless in the hot August air. Waiting for a miracle.
Control is gone. The Earth is in control. Years of using and beating the Earth. Earth wants back. Earth wins. Tree alone. Against the odds. Live to fail.
What is it to fail? We speculate. Religion tell us. What do we know? We can not. Only accept.
Why a child? A child can be wise. A child can be mature beyond its years. Define child? Look at yourself. Our lives are too short to go passed childhood. There may be some who understand and become wise elders. But still, they are children. They understand their place.
When we leave this place, maybe we can grow. I don't know. I am a child.

Very nice, Doug! I found your thoughts very insightful, and that guitar playing is great!
