Description

Lockdown. I thought of the name and then realized its perfect because one the synths sounds like a screaming siren, maybe like a prison siren. Whatever. Anyway, I made this one at home. I have a slight feeling that its overloaded with sounds, but we'll see. It's kinda repetitive. This one's like a cross between Wonderbox and Gates of Time. I hope no one will rate it at "2" again. There you have it. Lockdown.

Unbelieveable
I don't think anyone will rate this 2 unless they are an idiot. The beat is rockin' and I really love the build up. The synths sound great and powerful and then later in the track you use great harmonies that sound brilliant. You have come along way musically and have progressed in leaps and bounds. I am very impressed. This is by far your best track so far.
P.s. Its looks like a 2 rating has really spurred you on, although I disagree with the rating, I am overjoyed by your answer to it by making a cracking track.
P.p.s. I have done a track that is not a powerful as this one, but is my best yet. I will be interested in what you have to say. Its a different form of trance to this track, but see what you think.

A great Trance piece......
The piece, overall, is powerful.

I have two minor comments though:

The very first section seems to have a timing problem and the second section ends with some sort of mixing/timing problem. It's probably me being too critical but the build up to the fine middle of the piece is let down by the introductory two sections.

I would give it straight 8's were I to vote at all, so please don't dislike me for my little less positive comments.

The alternate melody synth works very well. It adds interesting contrast to what can be, in this type of music, a bit monotonous. You pull the Trance effect off very well.

I don't normally comment in such detail but this piece is strong enough to take them.

No reason to dislike a truthful comment
My computer is terribly slow and I think the mixing problem is Garageband being unable to export a song that it literally cannot play on its own. I'm serious, my song is too "complex" for my 1.0 Ghz. It can't consistently play the song the whole way. I noticed that, even after having checked it, Garageband would automatically raise the modulation on one of the synths when taken to mp3 format. So if my Garageband can't mix either, I won't be surprised. I do agree that the melody is very plain. Thanks for letting me know what you think of it!

About the speed of your computer
You may get problems with playback on a slower computer or one that lacks a gig of ram when you have lots of effects. One way to overcome that issue is by locking the track in gargeband. Click on the little lock Icon on the track and it will render the track to hard drive when you try to play it back. I do this sometimes on my mini when it wants to stall on playback. You can't change the track when it is locked but you can always unlock it to make changes. I lock some tracks (like the drums) while I'm working on other tracks, then lock the other tracks while tweaking the drums.

BTW. garageband will not export the songs to itunes as an MP3. It sends the song to itunes as an aiff file. To make it an MP3 after that you need to convert it.

	Im not into trance From what I hear its well made. The build up may be a little slow, but once it all gets started it all comes together. There may be a little more needed in the jam you have, but I'm not an expert in this genre. Good production all around. Check out my latest song called Guillotine
