Description
Stackars lilla Jösse 1976

The weather of summer of 1976 was very nice as I remember. I was in love, very active making music and getting a burst of new tunes out of the guitar.

By that time I owned a Martin D28 guitar (which I miss much) and a Revox A77 which was a great reel stereo recording machine. Don't have the machine left, nor the tapes, but luckily I had transferred some recordings to a simple casette tape for demo and these are still left.

The sound on the casette tape is not well, but is now transferred to hard disk and soaped. I have made nothing else to the sound here apart from sound soaping the hiss (which I needed to do twice).

As a matter of curiosity, the Revox A77 is presented for example here.

Your sense of melody,
It's here in this recording and one of the many reasons I love your music. Your music is always a breath of sanity and brings about a positve change in my attitude when it pops up on my ipod, and for that, thank you very much. Now I must make off with another one of your recordings;) There is nothing like a D28.

Terrific
Great sound Curry!. I also had a Martin D28 dreadnought in the mid 70's. I've kicked myself a thousand times for selling it.

God bless,

Rick

You rock... you roll...
you shine in this one my friend. The bright energy in this tune is contagious and calls for a reprise by the present day Johannes. Step up and make is so! I wish I had the one tape I made back in the late sixties of our band...

So wonderful Curry, it is the viewing of an "audio photo."

cheers...

YOU HAD...
...A D28 AND A REVOX A77?!?!?!?

In 1976?!?!?!

No more feeling sorry for you, Johannes... Gosh, and Beyer mics, too... Man, I was using a little TEAC cassette deck then, and feeling lucky to have it... An A77 was an impossible dream...

Now then. Even back then, long ago, in the mists of time, you had a really nice feel to your playing, and even through the cassette sludge I can hear that THAT was a really nice sounding guitar...

Off this goes into the collection...

Strangely enough
Strangely enough the Revox was THE thing I bought after working all summer after senior high .. so it must have been around 1972 .. that recorder was my big dream

A little Curry history
'76 - that's when we were in Sweden :)

You must have been quite a young talent back then Curry - the same warm playing that we've learnt to love. Thanks for this little piece of history.

Where have you been?

Cheers from Oz,
Neil

well I have been resting from both music making and MJ .. been doing workout almost every day, caring more about the food I eat and enjoyed the late summer, so as Ejh put it 'no feeling sorry for me' .. smile

Presages the Future
An airy little piece full of light and love, to be sure... but only a suggestive glimpse of how your playing would mature more and more toward the nuances of art, as you display today.

It might be interesting to hear what you would do with this little tune today. ;)

Cool that you have those recording... You played very well already at that time. I think I can notice a bit of the optimistic energy of a young Johannes;)
