Lyrics
She always suffered 'cause she wanted more
If only to give it all away
She always listened for the sound of a door
That would lead to a brighter day
After running around in circles
For 20 years since she was first betrayed
She keeps hoping for some sign that despite it all
She hasn't been waylaid
Not so innocent not her, no sir
She's witnessed far too much
She still believes in a miracle cure
To be delivered with a touch
And it will wipe away this sickness
That gnaws away at her insides
But she has yet to find a healer
That deigns to sit at her bedside
She thinks she lost the lottery
‘Cause she didn't know the rules
Who can she ask to start again
The other way is to throw the dice
Hope it means something in the end
There's no point in waiting for a godsend
No point in waiting for a godsend
If only to give it all away
She always listened for the sound of a door
That would lead to a brighter day
After running around in circles
For 20 years since she was first betrayed
She keeps hoping for some sign that despite it all
She hasn't been waylaid
Not so innocent not her, no sir
She's witnessed far too much
She still believes in a miracle cure
To be delivered with a touch
And it will wipe away this sickness
That gnaws away at her insides
But she has yet to find a healer
That deigns to sit at her bedside
She thinks she lost the lottery
‘Cause she didn't know the rules
Who can she ask to start again
The other way is to throw the dice
Hope it means something in the end
There's no point in waiting for a godsend
No point in waiting for a godsend

Wonderful harmonies are the first thing that hit me here, and you're always ace guitar work ('smiles' has one of my fav solos, ever). Great structured opo song, and nice concise lyrics...
fav'd and dl'd... great track, Chris... nice to have some more stuff from you.
