Lyrics
See the ones who stay
They'll be the ones who win today
Left behind for a cause,
Life stagnates, just to pause

Live to fight another war
for what, what for
who cares!
(to) Die for a lonely land
for what, what for,
Was it planned?

Bodies on the field lay,
Worlds apart, who can say
They're left to stand for a cause,
Young peoples lives are lost

Live to fight another war
for what, what for
who cares!
(to) Die for a lonely land
for what, what for,
Was it planned?

some solid folk....
Really good song, rac. Your guitar playing sounds clear and along with your nice vocal, a great song to listen to.

Your lyrics coupled with your singing and guitar make for a solid song on the heartache and sadness of war. Too many anti-war songs end up ranting and lack appeal. This one is in the mold of Dylan with the lyrics... and you sing better than him... LOL

Dylan?
Thanks for the uplifting comment, but I never considered myself Dylan-esque....thanks again for the conversation, all comments are greatly appreciated.

nice feel
i liked the mood of the song. very reminiscent of folk music from the times of our turbulent past. my only nitpicks would be as such, and they are minor...one, the vocals are well mixed, but a little 'poppy'.. one way to fix the pops if you dont want to buy a pop filter is the old wire hanger, leggs stocking pop filter of our garageband youth. i also wished i could hear the rhythm accents better. it sounds like you are playing some cool acoustics there, but they are kind of buried in the mix. all in all, i really liked this one, and look forward to hearing more from you!

Guy, I realy like your guitar style
and after thinking about it overnight, your vocal phraseing remindes me of Burton Commings (not sure of the spelling) of Guess Who fame. Another fine recording. Thanks.
