Lyrics
it’s not my fault that you drink too much not my fault that your childhood was a life insane such a source of pain, and despair no it’s not my fault starts out fun and games soft sweet exchange of names (I’ve needed loving for so long) good bye sweet caress the sweetness turned to bitterness the bitterness to misery and all that I can think of next is how to end this toxic mess my spirit’s in distress it’s not my fault that you drink too much not my fault that your childhood was a life insane such a source of pain, and despair no it’s not my fault no it’s not my fault deep, dark, drunken night come, home, you turn on the light (look in the mirror look at you) you hate what you see you don’t know who you wanna be don’t recognize yourself at all you wanna take it out on me but baby we are history fate has set me free it’s not my fault that you drink too much not my fault that your childhood was a life insane such a source of pain, and despair no it’s not my fault it’s not my fault that you hate yourself not my fault that your mind is such a wasted place such a wretched space beyond repair no it’s not my fault chorus no it’s not my fault no it’s not my fault no, no it’s not my fault no it’s not my fault

KITA----------------------------!!!
You know, you made me poke around looking for a translation of that. :-)
So, you think we should head north?
Radical? Inquiring westerners (well me) want to know!

Thanks for the enthusiasm (I think). :-)

Really great
Love the post-pop feel and selected synth/FX sounds,
almost like the The Cars. Excellent track. If it weren't
walking so close to the distortion edge, tho. Several
minor digital distortion clicks and over compression on
the chorus, altho it works with the theme of the song,
makes it hard to listen to (in speakers especially) and
seeing that it is such a fun pop song (even tho the lyrics
are edged and biting), the over-compression takes away
from the overall effect. But, if that can be remixed and
fixed, it is absolutely excellent. What a perfect team you
guys make.

Really great
Yeah, I think maybe It got pushed a bit, it's probably my fault, I think in trying
to get the vocals pushed over the guitars enough I introduced some nastiness
into the vocal tracks, partly because to do it on my system I had to work w/
her full mixdown in one track, then I brought back a mixdown of just vox that
I squished too much to ride over the mix. I think D. brought that back in to
her project file for the "final" and it inherited the problem. I may see what I
can do. Wish I could afford a nice pair of 4410's to mix to, always loved
those, but I usually just use the little 8 balls that came w/ my iMac, oh well.
Thanks for the Cars comparison I was also thinking about 'Till Tuesday a bit
when first listening through after tracking.

great sound
The two of you have come up with a very interesting, rich
and full palette of sounds on this tune. Very reminiscent
of the Cars.

Again, the musical texture is so interesting and varied that
it almost overwhelms the vocals at times. The lyrics are
quite poignant and intense. The vocal delivery and overall
sound in the mix seemed just a bit out of balance -- I
wish the vocals "cut through" more effectively somehow.

All in all though, a very artful track. I hope you two collab
again!

great sound
Thanks Cameron, and we are working on some more :-)
The balance of the rest to the vocals is the tricky bit, and I think maybe what's
got us into a bit of trouble w/ compression/distortion on this. I may go back
and see what I can do.

Pop scrungtastic!
I like the grungy edginess to this. A cool collab. Due to
lack of broadband at home, I have to sneak listening to
the odd track at work and I must say I mostly feel
artistically inadiquate, so many brilliant tracks!

Cheers to Daphna and ka-klick... fantastic!
