Lyrics
TAKE THIS HEART.

Take this song and, clutch it to your heart
Take these words like ya’, have from the start.
It ain’t that fancy but, this may be a dream
Kinda real but, something quite extreme.

Take this heart ‘cos ya’, have it in your hand
Wrap it up in velvet, and silken strands.
Take it with you, wherever you may land
‘Cross forest or ocean or driftin’ sands.

And darling you can rest your head
On my welcoming shoulder
For you have opened up our world
Now we’ll…….. never get no older.

Take this hand and, hold it to your breast
Lay your face, across my chest.
Take these lips and, brush ‘em with your tongue
And we’ll marry our souls an’ remain forever young….

Heart and soul.
Those two elements always seem to be present in your posts.Good pop rockin' tune Dennis.Especially like those smooth lead lines and tones not to mention the Petty type vocals.Much enjoyed.

You're
a great poet Dennis as you always come up with great lyrics to your always entertaining and cleverly played, sung and produced music. The vocals and expression in this really sound great. Top play for any radio station this, cheers M

Great song
I see the Petty vibe in the vocal Godchaser mentions (major compliment in my book, by the way...), and I love the guitar work on this. Jangly and melodic, this catches you and doesn't let go. Like the lyrics, too - great sentiment. Terrific work. Nicely done. Peace.

a lot to like
Good luck with that not getting any older thing : >

There's a lot to like here. The way you mix up the softer and louder parts is emotionally effective, while creating a dynamic listening piece. The way you stretch out the last syllables of the ending words in the third verse adds a nice touch of variation to your singing style. The little skippity guitar rhythm during the verses is ear-tickling. And your guitar solos are fresh, crisp and innovative.

The end came a little too quickly for me - I was ready to hear another round (or two) of that delightful guitarwork before saying goodbye to this song.

Enjoy the texture you get with the guitar
at the start. Nice vocal sound!

This is one of the best recorded electric guitar strumming of this style i've heard here at MJ.

A plus is the terrific backdrop vocals. Cool guitar lead.

Lots of work seems to have went into this.

Way to go Dennis

Good Song
Good song with a scrumptious lead guitar. Has a little Buddy Holly "Words of Love" feel to it.

Nothing like a good three minute rock and roll song. Tell the story and get on with it. I'm hearing a 12 string electric guitar in there, am I not.

Overall another good song.

What a lucky woman!
I hope she appreciates someone who could write a song like that for her. And what a lucky man you are to have such an inspiration.
