Lyrics
JAZZ CANCER

radiation,
chemotherapy --
the cancer
suffers too

yard sale!
bought a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle
called spilled milk --
wanna finish it
before I die

this morning
a bird flew
into the infinite sky
of my living room window

suicide
seems so funny
now
that my body
is the blade

radiation,
chemotherapy --
the cancer
suffers too

Sobering
There is no one whom this poem can not touch in some way. I echo the sentiment of prayer whether it is about you or a friend. How did you do the music? The jazz gives it that cynical blue quality that matches the poem perfectly. The way you match music to verse makes me wonder if you are not a great lyricist who can take a melody and find the perfect story behind it. Have you ever done songwriting that way?
