Lyrics
A flaneur automaton
I’m walking and I’m walking on
Where the streets are too well-known
And the only way is down…

Want an outdoor Café table
Where cobblestones are unequal
A small harbour and a temple
Sculpted in a cliff of marble

I want a city (by the sea)
Where nobody
Will know me
I search Some place to go away
I search somewhere to lose my way

Canals under crystal tunnels
Archways around a carrousel
A church spire that’s invisible
When seen from a certain angle

I want a city (by the sea)
Where nobody
Will know me
I search Some place to go away
I search somewhere to lose my way

I want maypoles, flags on flagpoles
I want arcades instead of malls
I want two tickets for the ball
And the power to the people

Homesick
Great track, but for me, one of the best lyrics you've written JC. This has a real whistful quality, a rejection of the modern soulessness of urban life...arcades instaed of malls.

Lyrics stand on their own, real poetry.

Excellent sentiment, powerfully communicated.

yours jealously

I've noticed my favorite dreams are just when I'm walking around in some imaginary cities. Not easy to make a description, let alone a rock song about this ! So I'm truly glad you like it.

Again, as with most of your songs, I liked this one from the first couple of seconds. Love the little keyboard breaks and the intro/outro effects. Cool song!

Nice one again
The keyboards give it a nice edge. I live where the cobblestones are unequal...........that explains my back problems.

So many
novel and interesting things going on here that it will take multiple listens to get to grips with it. My first impression is one of wonder at how you do this(these) epics. I will download and listen many times.
Cheers

thanks a lot
for your kind comment. we try and throw a lot of things in these that do not necessarily fit together: drone, jazzy organs, electronics: I'm glad it's appreciated.

I hear ghost sounds and teeth chattering, either that, or wind sounds and maracas.

A GREAT song! All the way through. Voice sounds like yearning. Just right.

I like how you phrase this. You're a poet.
