A PROPHET IN DISGRACE

Description
Back to the wild and raw electric blues.
This song is not geared to anyone in particular. Just to the self righteous men around the world. To me they are the prophets in disgrace. They can be your presidents or your neighbors. They're just the same.
In the end it's just a fun blues song and I hope you enjoy it.

Lyrics
PROPHET IN DISGRACE
By© Bernardo Barreto

Well here you are my friend
Trying to stir things up again
You think you are are prophet
But to me you're just plainly insane.

You came to this town
All so humble all so nice
You came to me and
Asked for help more than once.

So what happened overnight?
You went crazy you forgot
To get a refill on your daily dose
Well my dear get your doctor right away.

You are no prophet, you're no leader
You're no genius, you're not better
Than anybody else.
You're just plainly insane.

(solo)

You are no prophet, you're no leader
You're no genius, you're not better
Than anyone else.
You're just plainly insane.

Oh, you are a shame to all the prophets
Wearing all their clothes
You are a shame to all mankind
When you take them off.

It's so sad that there's no law
To keep you and your vile tongue
Locked away for good
Well to me you are just criminally insane.

You are no prophet, you're no leader
You're no genius, you're not better
Than anybody else.
You're just plainly insane.

So sad, oh yeah so sad
What a poor sad case
Oh so sad,
Yeah sad, sad, sad.

major slinkiness
This is great fun, got a great groove, nice guitar playing (though there was a teeny bit of clipping there)... your singing really gives a feeling that the "prophet" is a slimy wacko. Well done.

I love this message
and you sing it so well. I've known a few people like this- scary, dangerous, but mostly sad. You sing it with just the right touch of humor, like you're e telling the person off while letting them know you ain't taking them seriously. Excellent all around.

Nice blues
I think you told me they are loops; but you put those guitar leads together really well to get that jam feel, Bernardo. I'm really digging your style and the vox, down to earth. Thanks for sharing with us.

to the core
You are like John the Baptist (a real prophet) crying out from a dungeon. I get that imagery. Don't ask me why.

This is good stuff.
