Description
Off the same master as some of the earlier stuff... One of the girls that used hang out with us was Hanna. At the time Hanna suffered from one of those anorexic type diseases. We all feared for her health at time.

As we struggled to play and record our stuff Hanna often would come and just listen and laugh with (and at us). One day she sat down at Jeff's grand piano just outside of our little recording studio and began to play this song during one of our breaks.

She wasn't afraid to sing and we all sat there dumb founded. She had a beautiful voice and had written this one night probably as a result of her feelings about where she was in life, anorexia, etc.

I hauled the dokoder out and a few mics and we asked her to play it again. This was a one take effort (except for the flute). The flute was added later by Kit a friend of hers from school.

The song, while the recording is rough, has always haunted me with its simple beauty. I've lost track of Hanna and I hope that she was able to over come that disease.

Hanna if you are out there please get in touch and lets do this song up right!

I can only hope...
That Hanna is still alive. That disease has robbed this world a more talent than I care to think about. I hope she got the help she needed. As I said I lost track of her.

This recording was truly spontaneous as she simply started to play this during a band practice break. We added the flute later. In fact... I wonder if she ever heard the finished version with the flute?

Anything thanks for the listen!

Thanks for the visit.....
I stopped by to repay the favor and am very glad I did. I also wrote a song with the same title but that is where the similarities end. This is by far better in every way. This song is brilliant!! It is now a favorite of mine. I also pray that Hanna is beyond that crippling disease. Thanks for sharing this Mark

Not better
I would still love to hear your society blues sometime! I seriously doubt this one is better. When I listen to "All my love" I'm stunned not only by the vocals but the song itself!

This was done in
high school? Man she has/had a future with song writing/performing. Hopefully she is out there and doing well. Very nice song!

What a voice
Hope she made it and beat the disease. This is quite good for a spur of the moment thing.

Voice
Hanna's voice is haunting. The sound is like something out of the early 70s. Hope you get a chance at another session with Hanna.

Thanks
Bill
