Description
Two roadies stumble on stage to clear the equipment just a wee bit stoned. Even though they are not supposed to play one lays down a great drum beat pissing the lead roadie off.
But a beautiful guitar grabs his attention and soon his anger is lost as he starts to lay down a minor blues riff against the solid beat of his partner.
For a second both forget they are not supposed to be rockin and just let it flow oblivious to the crowd.
Imagine the shock when a bassist and keyboardist from some unknown band join in.
After a few bars Carlos Santana sneaks on stage with a guitar. Only the crowd reacts to him until he begins one of his signature disjointed Santana leads.
Finally it is too much and the jam falls apart. The two roadies high tail it off the stage while Carlos offers them a spot in his band.
About this:
First off it is supposed to be funny... Something you might totally imagine happening at Woodstock with all the smoke floating around. Being stoned it is live and dirty and totally impromptu.
I'm not a great lead player. Frankly I've often thought of Santana leads as very disjointed at least until later years so I tried to think of him stepping into something he'd never practiced before. The lead is intentionally kind of weird... but again that is my opinion of Santana.
I had a lot of fun putting this together and trying to learn LE8 at the same time.
Feter... Thanks for this wonderful idea and letting me be apart of it.
Any comments are most welcome! I have a lot to learn!
Oh ya... my hand really did hurt! I'm not in shape for continuous bar chords these days!
