Description

I wrote and sang this song based on Bing Fupia's lovely original piano verse about 2 years ago. I had previously sworn not to write overly romantic songs so I hesitated to post this song and completely forgot about it. I was going through my old songs and listened to this song once more, and I just realized how moving and endless the theme is. So here I finally decided to share it, only for those who can take schmaltzy songs Haha!

It's a song about eternal love, as epic as the love of Romeo and Juliet, or Britney Spears and Kevin Federline.

I have listened to your song and what a wonderful inspiration. After listening to your song, it made me feel less inhibited to post this love song, which at first I thought was too maudlin to be appreciated. But as you affirmed in your song, there is sometimes only a small window of opportunity to express our love and emotions, and that window may come to pass without having taken the chance to do so. I wrote this song when I was feeling forlorn about a lost and dying love (I think I just watched the movie "Titanic" on DVD that time:-) I thought it may strike a cord with people who have a connection with that emotion or situation.

David, thanks a lot for you kind words about this humble little piece. To be honest with you, i am not fully aware of the "emoting" that goes into my vocals when I sing a song, I think it is spontaneous when I try to feel rather than think about the song. For this one, I was thinking of the scene when Romeo agonizes over a dying Juliet.

As for you, my friend, the contrasting gentleness of your voice is as powerful as the message of the lyrics you deliver. As much as you admire my singing, I am one big fan of yours as well!

Hey, bud! I'm glad you liked this. As you very well know, I am such a big fan of your modern hip-hopping raping style of music and as I've discovered lately you are quite a singer too!

I am hoping to emulate your edgy style, but every once in a while I still get sucked back in to my old romantic style, like this one which is two years old but I hesitated to post because it so old school ballad . Although I am doing more hip hop/pop now, I have to embrace my schmaltzy past.

Thanks for listening. This is a throwback to my old ballad-writing days. The vocals were admitedly well-recorded, but the lyrics were so Shakespeareanly maudlin that I thought people would immediately laugh it off. Was I wrong. I gave a copy of this song to a family friend, and she said she cried uncontrollably listening to it. It must have struck a cord. So, I thought it may not be that bad at afterall and decided to share it.

I was hoping to write a little more like you (I'm such a fan of yours), with more thought-provoking rather than straightforwardly romantic lyrics, But I realize there are romantic people out there who may still find something fantastic about what-you-hear-is-what-you-get simplicity of lyrics.

i guess i as just being defensive, as most of my songs have been about love and heartbreak haha. i really love romantic songs.. but i just wanted to point out to myself and others that i can also do other genre of songs as part of my artistic growth...

Good voice with a passion
I agree with the others about your voice performance here. Lyrics are great and the way you express it with your voice.

I missed some more music to fulfil the song when I listened (sec. time) to it in the kitchen a bit away from the stereo. I'm not in the stage of my musical development so I can advice you on this maybe you can ... doing a remix or others can give you some ideas. Just my view.

I still envy your voice :-)

...for thinking I am worthy of joining that singing contest... but something about that show really upsets me: that those judges think they know better when it comes to singing. I admire singing in every form, and although there are different levels of vocal skills, there is really no objective measure of artistry and style. It's nothing more than a popularity contest that often boils down to flashiness over substance. It's the teenage girls screaming and swooning over those pretty contestants who command the outcome of this competitions.

I am not pretty enough, I think, to qualify Haha!

Also I have quite a bit of a temper (and some martial arts skills) and Simon might have to visit his dental surgeon after he acted bitchy with me. LOL.

I talk too much.. but I do appreciate your AI vote for me. :-)

.. the vocals are just amazing: pitch perfect, passionate, honest, sincere emotional delivery, in short the works: really "top notch" without doubt .. I must say the piano melody at the start reminded me a bit of Joe Harnell's "The lonely man", otherwise known as the incredible Hulk TV series closing credit music, but drifted away from that comparison later on. Good lyrics too. Faved and downloaded. Good to hear a post you again Dr.Leon. Thanks for sharing.
