Description
Not gonna be online for a while......am to lazy to finish any new things I have so thought I'd post this. So if there are any comments, I may not reply for a while. Another old demo from around 1990. All I remember about making it is...... a lot of midi cords and racks of synths and outboard gear. Think this may have been an Akai 1212 remember those ha!

I love to hear a
well written and good song, -this is the first thing I always make my judgements by, - It's nice to have good production as well but without a good song to start with there is nothing, -at least that's what I think. However here you have the best of both worlds. Not forgetting an excellent performance.

Hey just wanted to
thank you all for the compliments before I head out of town. Each of you are so talented in your own right and I am honored. Helen you must be new.....if so welcome and thanks also. John I guess I'm like you in that manner.....I do like a good song and that is usually my first priority when
I make music. I think you are a great writer and vocalist plus a blues piano
specialist. I did mean to mention in the description that this song may sound familiar to some US folks who listen to country. This was a single in the early 90's by a country artist.
again thank you very much

For Crying Out Loud...
Nicely done. Rich vocal sound, sort of like Michael McDonald (singing intelligibly for a change... lol) and The Doobie Brothers doing something a bit Country. ;)

Could this be...
one of Huey Lewis' lost tracks that should have been in his album?

I think I've fav'd all your songs because they always strike a cord in me. pure delicious pop sound, a little retro .. sweet melodies and crisp instruments. some songs kinda takes time and repeated listening to appreciate.. yours are immediately pleasing to the ears from the first note. your vocals are clear and pure... its timbre is better than huey lewis in my opinion.

In Case You Missed The Sad News...
*droop* (Paul Davis) died of a heart attack yesterday, Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at age 60.

He was an accomplished singer, songwriter and musician who scored some terrific hit singles in the '60s, '70s and '80s, including *I Go Crazy* and *'65 Love Affair.*

He was a welcomed friend here at MacJams and will be missed. RIP, my friend. You wrote music that touched a lot of people's lives... including mine. ;)

One take Ugh

Below are Droops Comments on my song Sunbeem
Quote
Well that is really saying something and so is this beautiful composition.
You know my belief is that we have a chance to say a lot of things in our music with words or melodies. I always prefer to convey something
on the brighter side with a overall sense of goodness. You have the neat ability to always capture that feeling of happiness, hope, fun and in this case......Sunbeem! Unqoute.

Excellent

Man. I've been staring at the screen for a while now, wondering what to say, tears flowing intermittently, wondering at the irony in the song description ("Not gonna be online for a while... I may not reply for a while"), enjoying the music, being struck by Paul's reply to Dee in which he says: "I always prefer to convey something on the brighter side with a overall sense of goodness," and thinking, man, you sure succeeded, and maybe the thing to do now is cherish what we have while we have it, focus on the goodness, and make music.

Love
All the 'clean-ness' of droops recordings and how they just sound so well tailored in every respect from vocals to harmonies to instruments, beat and melody. Could anybody find anything 'wrong' with this?..... and You may not be around for a while Droop as you say in your description, but you'll be around in a lot of people's minds for a good while to come, God Bless! I didn't know Paul
but I've always love his music. There was a truth and honesty in his writing that never seemed to falter. Beside his writing, he had a wonderful way of singing a song, that took you with him into the emotions of the song.

He will be missed by many more people that he would have ever realized. The world has lost one of it's best, and we here at MacJams have lost a dear friend.

Rest in peace brother.

Paul Davis
I loved this song. How very nice that he lives in his music. There is a certain kind of immortality you can only achieve by giving yourself away. He did that. He made many friends, here. And, he will be remembered.
