Description
Well the batteries ran out on the Pocket Pod and it was 1:45am so no more electric guitars tonight. Pulled out the Taylor and naled the progression pretty quick, layed that down and decided it was a love song. Well in my current state of affairs it wasn't hard to write plus spring is in the air! So call me twitterpated. This actually took me a few passes to get the melody just right. All comments and constructive criticisms are welcome here friends. If anyone would like to lay down some bongos on this it would really give it a nice touch.

Lyrics
It's getting late or is it early
Your voice has captured me
I'm going blind in your beauty
It's all that I can see

Nothing now can break your spell
I am truly yours
What's passing now no voice can tell
As like rain it pours

sun is rising now or is it setting
The sky is all ablaze
My heart is full of your wonder
To get me through these days

Nothing now can break your spell
I am truly yours
What's passing now no voice can tell
As like rain it pours

Nothing now can break your spell
I am truly yours
What's passing now no voice can tell
As like rain it pours

It's getting late or is it early
Your voice has captured me
I'm going blind in your beauty
It's all that I can see

Really Nice!
This is a nice song. Your singing is soft and calm. The guitar playing is also fine but the only thing I might say here: I wish there was some rhythm and a little higher tone of vocals... maybe some strings in the background and harder work on the mix. I liked this song overall.. You got great quality.. Very nice work!

Thank you
This is far from finished. However I did several different vocal melodies to this and kept coming back to this the simplest one as it fit the raw simplicity of the guitar. Don't worry there will be a much better mix and performance coming I just had to get this idea down. that's why I call these sketches I rarely spend more than half an hour writing and recording the initial idea then when I am prepared to focus I will return and polish it from the ground up:) Thank you so much for your input, I really enjoy your music and I can tell you put a lot of care into it.

i like the picking. i'd like to hear the guitar a tad more. kind of cool mixing with using multi voc tracks. sounds like this would be a really good song to hear live. i sort of like it with just the picking it sort of keeps the song flowing, and lets you get lost in it. sometimes a constant is good in a song and the lower vocals work well with the simple melody on them. the lyrics seem to me to fit a steady flow like this and not need a huge change with higher vocals or anything. doesn't seem that would fit the mood. so i like it how it is. i can hear strings on it perhaps if you chose.

Percussion is needed
Thanks I agree the simple melody fits the tone of this one but strings would be nice as well as percussion of some type like a djimbe or bongos.

hmm perhaps a quiet bongo track would work on this i'd keep it sort of soft and a slow rhythem so it doesn't over power the guitar picking if you do.

Break Your Spell
Love the lyrics, fine guitar work and the vocal tracking is catchy. I recomend nothing but do agree with Birdman Wayne, something in the background would probably work very nice. Anyhow, I enjoyed it very much. Look forward to the final mix.

Nice song
and lyrics Mike and your vocals sound good too, but I would have kept it single track if it were me, and then maybe a little harmony on certain lines, but it sounds good as is, regards M

Nice sketch....
This is good songwriting Mike.

I'll be following this one as you develop it. I agree with Yeman re the possible addition of strings in the background.

Maurice's suggestion of harmony on some of the vocal lines is a good one too.

Nice guitar playing and a very lovely melody.

Be well!
