Description
Trying to keep to kingbee's example of what should be coffee shop music I tried to keep as true to form of my live performances. At times I added audience participation and trying miserably to play & sing all the way through. The song is about a singer who's not to trilled about singing in a coffee shop and wondering how it came to this.
I personally will sing anywhere but I thought it made a good subject for a free style verse... Hope you enjoy my sense (or lack of) humor.

Lyrics
Lyrics were a free style so what came out and what I was thinking well...
Now I hope nobody gets me wrong
cause I'm glad that I'm here with you
but i just thought I'd write a song
about all the crap that I've been through
See I could have went commercial
and sold about a million cd's
But I didn't wanna lose my soul
Just to make it in the industry
Singing in the coffee shop (oh oh oh)
Just trying to make the rent
wondering if it'll ever stop
wondering where my career went (repeat)
They say that there's always tomorrow
and there's bound to be better days
but I don't like the smell of coffee
and still haven't been paid
what's the difference between a latte and espresso
I just hope they pay me in cash
and I'm so glad that I brought my pistol
just in case I have to rob your ass
Singing in the coffee shop (oh oh oh)
Just trying to make the rent
wondering if it'll ever stop
wondering where my career went (repeat)
Now I don't know none of ya'll personally
nor do I know how you feel
but I just thought you might like an artist
who can sing for real
Singing in the coffee shop (oh oh oh)
Just trying to make the rent
wondering if it'll ever stop
wondering where my career went (repeat)

digging your singing... dang you you got the pipes... and not a bad stand up comic! Seriously... you got a voice ala Stevie Wonder... I mean that bro... keep it up. Those harmonies... righteous.
Can I buy you a latte?? heheh
