Description:
Some harmonic moods from deep sombre to something resembling hope. Colors often suggest that: thus, the title. I hope you can just sit back and enjoy this for whatever it means/does to you...mainly that it gives you 3 minutes of peace.

Not just me &mdash 07/01/08 - 08:00:29 AM
Begins in a somber mood, as you describe, but also a nostalgic one. The mood becomes considerably brighter seamlessly and organically. It is beautiful, as is everything you compose. My wife just said, "that was very pretty!", and my 7-year old son chimed in with "that was really nice! Who wrote it?" I think they were both hoping I wrote it, but alas, it was you!
I don't know how you manage to write so much, and at such a consistently high level, but keep it up! [ Reply to This ]

Just lovely Paul. Very romantic. Just the right kind of background music to have when sharing a glass of a dry red by the fireside with your favorite girl.
God bless,
Rick

Another rich set of colors, very nice! I do like the way this starts, gets me hooked with the dark colors, and then as if sunrise slowly melts away the darkness, the mood heads toward playful, then serene. Love the little triplets early on. Wonderful piano sound/dynamics and playing, as usual.

how the notes chase away the initial sadness and brings us out into the clearing with the sunshine and flowers. Wonderful playing as always, Paul.:-) [ Reply to This ]

You too good with these delicate moments my friend ..
a true master touch in all through the piece .I think
its not a skill ..its a heart and you can put a melody
that realy express yours .very passionate very
emotional ..a true classical hand where harmonies and
theories are nothing just tools to express the mood ..
and its a total peace here ..thank you so very much
for the gem !!!! [ Reply to This ]

Paul, this is a beautiful piece. Echoes of Chopin, mixed with "Autumn Leaves." Wonderful dynamic contrasts. I also appreciate your efforts to offer contrasts in register. Is this Synthogy Ivory or the real thing? Either way, it's gorgeous.
Best,
John

Yes, Paul, 3 minutes of peace and then some. &mdash 07/03/08 - 10:57:03 PM
I guess I should take this and make a loop. Is this really free, or are you going to hit me up with a tab later on? I've downloaded everything I've heard you do. If I could play piano, I would steal it, and claim it was mine, but relax; no threat of theft from me. Truly, another beautiful piece from the heart. Terry [ Reply to This ]
I love... &mdash 07/04/08 - 12:55:34 PM
...those deep but clear left hand chords... I think that's one part of the sonic spectrum where I really notice the exceptional sound of Ivory...I also like the way you use that end of the piano in the composition...Clark's word 'organically' is apropos here, too... Nothing in your compositions ever sounds thrown in, nothing appears just for effect...
