This is
fantastic. You are just a master of this stuff.Just incredible vocals. The guitars are mixed perfectly- those volume swells behind the acoustic are a brilliant touch.Wow, ending on a major chord... does that mean there is hope?

huge
there's a huge, bold sound going on. Your vocals are dead on for the sound your aiming for. I'm glad you've set up a different profile for this project. Quite the undertaking!

I Can't Critique....
I can barely even comment on this....I am still marveling over the grandness of it all. My guitar gently bows...

Excellent
Great production....all the instrument levels are perfectly balanced in my opinion.
I guess what is more important than a polished recording is whether the song itself is good,,,,,to my ears this is exceptional!
Hope this carries you to where you want to be, you are extraordinarily talented and deserve to be heard!

Huge sound
Sorry it took me so long to get to this.

Brilliant production. Everything's got space to breathe and move around. The reverb on the snare drum is the perfect complement to the song's feel... almost like there is a lament tucked away into each drum hit.

I love the volume swells early in the song... the guitar has a beautiful, saddened violin-like tone to it.

Every time I hear your vocals I think Dave Mustaine... but then I think "Dave Mustaine WISHES he was this good". It sounds to me that you've taken his influence and pushed it to a place that he has no way to reach technically.

I think this version marks an evolution in your music, the dynamics that you bring to this mix showcase the songwriting much better than the previous takes I heard, which had a bit more of a flat response. Odd how better production can really bring out the intricacies of a song.

Love the bass sound as always... that's one area that I can't ever seem to master in my recordings.

My only critique would be in the very late parts of the song where you have that almost dirge-like guitar march - it sounds a bit plodding/choppy to my ears and detracts somewhat from the energy that's been built up. But this is a very minor quibble (you didn't think I'd get through a complete review without some critique, did ya? ;)

Not much else to say other than I dig it and have really enjoyed hearing the growth that is so evident here.

Pretty Bad-Ass
Love the bass guitar sound. The vocals are spot on. The mix is excellent. I agree with Mason that the distorted guitars sound a little off in parts (like when they come in, maybe the rhythm isn't spot on). That's my only quibble. This is epic and grand, wow!

RazorsKiss said 484 days ago (July 29th, 2008)
yeah,
it is possible i got a little overzealous with the heavy guitars. i wanted to create a larger space whith the louder instruments, and i brought them in a touch earlier than expected. i think if i had a real drummer, it could have been doubled with the kick, and made it more powerful and entrance. using only loops, DoD, it is a balancing act when it comes to making drums mate with my songs.
thank you for your listen and for your comment. i love input, and never take them to bear emotionally, only to heart in order to make the best music i can.

Have you ...
Have you ever tried programming drum parts? There is a program called BFD that has really nicely sample drum sounds. Maybe you could program your own drum tracks instead of using loops to fit your music better. It would be more work but your music might benefit from it in the long run. Just a suggestion.

Wow!
Dude,

I would of remember hearin' this one!

The quality and volume are sweet! The clarity is a huge step up. Logic 8?

The tune is killer as always, The backups are spot on and full. Great delivery with the lead vox. This is a perfect addition to an already astounding trilogy. Sounds frickin' GREAT! my friend.

I can't wait to hear your next upload bro.

Cool tune!

Chris

Captivating song...
I'm still listening to it... Man you got some serious range in your vox. I'll be interested in hearing the next two pieces. Overall solid performance on this. Congrats, this is quite an accomplishment. I used to love the album Ronnie James Dio did with Black Sabbath. Parts of your song remind me of it. Nice ending, and it leaves us ready for the next piece.

think this rocks. Especially blown away with the huge production value. Vocal wonderful, guitars when they make their crashing intro is blinding. Nice sustained lead tones and the drums are the FB. Nice

Intense!
Wow!! This is such a killer track! The dual vox are cool, but I have to say that when the distorted guitar first rings, the tension is AWESOME! I hear a lot of cool styles going on here and the exotic (sounded middle eastern) melodic lines going on are very cool. This is one of those tracks that has an ominous feel to it throughout but when it roars...DAMN! Your vocal range is very impressive too. Can't say enough good here- this tune smokes!
