I had to do it.
SteveL sent me this song ages ago and I heard...well...more voices.
Not dead people, mind you, but voices! Lots of voices.
So, I added them one by one until there were suddenly lots of voices in addition to the melody and harmony that Steve had sung. We had a chorus!
I sent the mix to Steve, who, as it turned out, really hadn't liked the song all that much after he first posted it. In fact, he'd removed it not too long after posting it.
Not pressing the issue, I set the song aside on an external HD for well over a year.
Recently, as the original mix (sans extra voices) came over my iTunes playlist, I thought, "Aw...to heck with Stevel, I'll post this anyway!"
Well. Ok. Not really. I ran the tune past Steve again, and this time he decided maybe it didn't sound so bad after all. He added a bass track and an additional track of harmonies to the chorus, and voila!!
So, here it is: the sort of 'unauthorised,' bootleg version of Hanway Street!
(Thanks for being such a good sport, Steve ;)
Hanway Street--music and lyrics by Stevel
additional vocals, remix--Mystified
street and pub ambience--freesound project
