ummm....
ok, i had to check this out because i recognized the song title, but thought it could be just coincidence. this is not inspired by joe satriani, this is a direct rip off. the rhythm tracks are almost exactly like joe's version of 'always with me'. don't believe me, check it out for yourself:

http://www.chimehosting.com/satriani/media/Surfing_With_The_Alien/04_-_Always_With_Me,_Always_With_You-ex.mov

anyway, i'm certain that everyone here, and joe himself, would agree that this kind of plagiarism is totally uncool and this tune should be removed immediately. in fact, i don't believe that you played the rhythm tracks. i don't think satriani's playing them, necessarily, but i still think they are stolen.

sorry if this sounds harsh, but i don't like plagiarism - much less from one of my favourite artists ever!

Re: ummmm
Hello 12parsecs

Thanks for your critism and opinion. BUT actually what I did was to take the ground track 1) and put some new tunes played on my lead guitar (as described under hardware). I'm sure Joe Santriani would agree on that.

1) Your link is a short intro (stops after approx. 15 sec.) and it's INCLUDING lead guitar.

Joe Santriani can do more stunts on a guitar than me ... no doubt about that.

If you check the 'song' before Rock IT (if you not already did) then you'll find that I played all the instruments and the composition is explicit mine wether you like it or not. But playing all the instruments have to start somewhere if you want to make your own compositions. Then you can add some complexity to it in time.

This 'song' is not for commercial or business use. It's made to get constructive opinions on the lead guitar play.

NB. In future I can check with Joe Santriani first before putting it at MJ or I can put it on YouTube. No problem.

Be well, Gamborg

I'm here to learn but sometimes I get tired to have comments in the manner you put it. Specific and constructive critism are always welcome.

Addition to comment
Just to make it clear ... I paid for the ground track and it's not Joe Santriani playing it. But he plays the appregio guitar on the original for your information.

bought the beds.
well then, if you bought the bed track, and it allows you to record to it and post it, then i guess i have to apologize. i thought you were trying to pass the progression and form off as your own. my mistake.

i still wonder, however, if others might see this as a 'cover' tune, since the bed track is verbatim the bed of another song. cover tunes are not allowed on this site, btw. i'll leave it up to other people to make up their minds.

where can one buy these satriani bed tracks? it'd be fun to practise to them!

Good lord
The backing track is obviously exactly the same. The lead is a version someone who couldn't play like Joe would come up with.

And for #$!*'s sake its S-A-T-R-I-A-N-I.

That's almost *ahem* sancreligeous!

Re: Good Lord
I don't respect your comments 'shiner'.

Learn to play the guitar before you judge other guitarists and for the sake of God and get your guitar into tune!

Bought
Respect for your comments.

I bought the backing track together with around 799 others in U.S.A. at Infusion Corp. Media. I believe it was around 1.000 USD through ebay. Theres a lot of good backing tracks and around 8 of Joe Satriani.

NB. I'll take of the music piece here at MJ once I get more comments (4-5) on the lead guitar.

bargain
thanks for the heads-up on where i can get those backing tracks, gamborg.

as for your playing, i can definitely see that you are improving from post to post. there's one note that you are using that i think isn't in the key, but the rest is fitting in. you are correct to say tuning is important. very important, imo. cheers!
