Description

This song is not finished and probably never will be because some a$$ broke into my home and stole my computer in July which had the only working copy of the Logic Pro file. The only thing I have is this early iteration which I bounced to iTunes. It's probably 85% finished and I was really happy with the way it was turning out.

I think I'm finally coming to terms with the fact that this was a huge blow to my verve and I haven't touched my keys since the day of the burglary. (Thankfully most of my files were backed up, so the real loss was this song and my last song, Apogee.)

I'm really f'ing angry and I have no one to direct this anger toward, so I suppose I've been silently imploding. I'm uploading this unfinished and stolen song as part of my 12-Step program in hopes that I may be able to someday get my verve back.

Sorry to be such a downer. But this is why I've been absent from MacJams lately.

and that is to show them that stealing your computer cannot steal your spirit, creativity, and beautiful talent.

I have lost many things in life, stolen, broken, erased... and I feel so much for you... it is so hard to get up the energy and impetus to start the project over, and try to re-create what you have temporarily lost.

But I hope you know that I for one always enjoy *whatever* you share... it is always touching and personal, this song is no exception. It has that elegant MissChaos touch, and is worth re-building from the ashes of loss.

I am delighted to see you back here again, but am also very upset to hear about your loss. I hope everybody is OK, given the circumstances... ugh!

I'd probably feel much better about this if I could, you know, cuss someone out or at least watch them try to log into that computer which was password-protected... :-) It's nice that it's gotten the Drak seal of approval... I think I will try to recreate this one but it won't be easy. I hardly remember the settings I used and instruments I chose. We'll see. Thanks again and Hi to the family from Ms. MIA.

I always enjoy knowing that you've posted another song, Stacy. I do love your compositions - they are full of sonic delights, rife with emotion, take twists and turns the listener doesn't see coming, and demonstrate depth and skill.

Very Sorry...
that you have been violated. Often times, life isn't fair. At least you and your family are alive and safe. As for the lost music files, computer etc., those things can be replaced. Humans are a bit harder to re-create. I don't mean to minimise your anger and frustration Miss C, but worse things could have happened and I am very sorry for your loss. I am confident that with your amazing talents, you will be able to finish this track as well as many more. Thanks so much for sharing this partially finished song with us. Great thought given to the timbre of the percussion instruments. Really nice blend of tones in the ambient and harmony voices. Terrific sense of space and depth. An emotional state captured in sound.

To quote a current quip from one of the political candidates: "Its not how often you get knocked down that matters, its how quickly you get back up." Be angry. Be really f*cking furious. Put it in music and then let it go. If you need some industrial guitar for the effort I've got your back!

Incredible sounds here. This has a total Ulrich Schnauss feel to me (hope you take that as a compliment!). So sorry about the theft, but I admire you for putting this out here, along with all your raw emotion. This is full and lush with a great beat underneath. That story gets me pissed. And I was already less than my happy and smiling best...

And I really like this. I think one of the things that goes on for me with your stuff is that I like how you think, musically. You step off the beaten path without sounding like, 'Hey, here I go, I'm steppin' off the beaten path now, y'all...' I like how you use rhythm at slow tempos, and how a lot of slow harmony adds up to a sense of melody...

I don't have any sense of 'lack' about this apparently early and unfinished iteration, except, I guess, the ending...

Sorry to take so long to hear it. It's great to hear your music again, though.

	Hang in there. I am very sorry to hear about your troubles. That is real shame. The track works pretty well as is except for the abrupt ending but I am sure that could be edited. Amazing Composition
Wow, this is the type of music I've been planning to try out, but for some reason I always end up producing faster songs.

I totally feel for you and what you've gone through. This is one of my worst fears and I can not even imagine having someone steal my master files! I back up like crazy but that's only good if the backup drive can't be stolen.

I hope it is not too much of a crushing blow. I know anger very well, and it will always consume you. That's why you still have to play. No one really owns music, so your next expression will be even better. The Digital bits and bytes of ideas come and go. It is really this place and others like it, that have friends that will always love your style of music. Like me, for instance. I am glad to find that my friends are still playing and I'm grateful for that. I hate to use this old cliché, but the obstacles of life is what makes life worth living.
