Description
I wrote this song about overcoming writer's block and getting thru performance anxiety....and wouldn't you know it....I end up getting creatively blocked during the process.
I am Bass Blocked. I have no Bass Guitar at home and, furthermore, I keep trying to "hear" a Bass line for this song and I just can't get it. I hear nothing. I tried tuning my acoustic down an octave from low E to simulate a Bass sound, but ohhh did that soooo not work. And in my quest to "hear" Bass, I ended up blocking myself again....on the lyrics....though I do have some ideas about what I want to express with words, I just want to hear this song with some Bass Guitar it to inspire the expressional lyrical flow.
I need help. I am asking you, my fellow MacJammers, to please help me out with this song! I really, really, really like this song a whole lot and I just don't want it to end up Bassless. So if we can work this out, then please let me know so we can work it out!

There are lyrics to this song, but they are so far, incomplete.....that writer's block thing again. Anyway, the following is the basis of this song:
Song starts with character talking to himself about his writer’s block. He has been having a difficult time at trying to write a song and he is trying to motivate himself by talking about getting his engines of creativity started (thus the Car Engine sounds). He comes across some words of advice and reads them out loud to himself.
(Spoken Intro)
Keep your mind wide open.
And those ideas flowing.
Never mind the direction that its going.
Just get it all down.
Don’t interrupt the flow.
Be ready to deliver steady just like rock and roll.
(Verse 1)
I think I got the blues
Please Tell me How’d this happened
Can’t seem to find my groove
Might as well start nappin.
But my mind’s in a cage
Can’t find the words to explain
Frustration turns into rage
Something’s blocked in my brain.
(Chorus)
Keep your mind wide open.
And those ideas flowing.
Never mind the direction that you find it going.
Just get it all down.
Don’t interrupt this flow.
Be ready to deliver steady just like rock and roll.
(Pre-Verse Bass Guitar Solo???)
He likes the advice but he wonders aloud to himself about how to apply this advice to his stage fright.
(Verse 2)
Its time to hit the stage
Standing bright in that spotlight
My hands don’t want to play
My head just does not feel right
Feeling weak in the knees
Butterflies in my chest
I think that I’m gonna freeze
From all of this rising stress
(Chorus)
Keep your mind wide open.
And those ideas flowing.
Never mind the direction that you find it going.
Just get it all down.
Don’t interrupt this flow.
Be ready to deliver steady just like rock and roll.
(Bridge)
Oh yeah
I think I got this
Okay
I can do this
(Missing Bridge Verse)
(Guitar Solo 1)
(Chorus)
Keep your mind wide open.
And those ideas flowing.
Never mind the direction that you find it going.
Just get it all down.
Don’t interrupt the flow.
Be ready to deliver steady like a rock and roll.
(Bridge 2)
(Unwritten Bridge Verse 2)
(Guitar Solo 2)
(Refrain)

Kick/ass are the two words that come to mind when I hear this. I wish I knew how to play bass. I would try to rip it. I only do cuts and flows (hmmm...).
